With guidance on choosing period products, charting your cycles and preparing a first period kit, alongside profiles of ‘cycle superstars’ such as Amika George who are working to end period poverty, this book is the complete guide to getting your period.

The whole gist of both the class and this book is the idea that we, as pregnant women, have the power to give birth to our babies and to have a birthing experience that can be positive regardless of the decisions we make or the unexpected variables that may be encountered. Home birth or hospital birth, epidural or pain relief free, vaginal or cesarean, riddled with complications or completely smooth sailing... Whatever ends up happening, childbirth is a better experience the more informed you are ahead of time about your choices, so that no matter what happens, you can advocate for yourself and your baby.I really needed to read this book. It is a powerful and reassuring read for when the most of your knowledge of pregnancy and childbirth comes from tv-shows, horror stories of mothers with negative experiences or in my case: hospitals. It shows you how natural and beautiful it is to be able to make a whole new person from scratch! And then give birth to it. Pregnancy is not a diagnosis, and most of the time, nature knows what to do. This book gives me the self-assurance to give birth at home with as little medical 'help' as possible . A zip file with all 98 icons individually as jpg files, which you can drop into Word documents, etc. I finished this book in 3 days and it definitely gets the thumbs up from me. It’s like you’re learning but you don’t feel like you’re learning”. Our groups are designed to help support girls aged 10-12 as they enter puberty and embark on their teenage years. We want to help make growing up for girls stronger, safer and better supported and all the things in your book fit perfectly with our mission. We help girls to learn about the changes that puberty brings, find mentors, learn from inspirational women and loads more, and your book is in perfect synergy with our work. Thank you for writing such a great book for all the girls out there who need this information in a clear and friendly format.” If you have a high risk pregnancy she encourages you to push for a home birth with an independent midwife but you are expected to be traumatised by any intervention and the focus is on how to refuse it.

So very recently, I took an all-day intensive birthing course. It covered topics such as the anatomy of a pregnant woman, what to expect during the three phases of labor, pain relief options, understanding interventions, home births vs hospital births, cesareans, ways to increase oxytocin levels, benefits of skin-to-skin, breastfeeding, and more. It was extremely informative and I walked out of this class feeling completely empowered. Milli is a compassionate and passionate writer who puts women squarely at the heart of her endeavours’ There was no mention of the Post-Partum Poo and how to prevent difficulties with that by eating and drinking appropriately during labor could make that a non-issue. Pinter & Martin’s series, Why It Matters, seeks to steer a course through this sea of information, to give a broad perspective on the topics that affect family life in the 21st century. Readers will find that the books give a succinct, balanced and evidence-based introduction to each subject, giving them a firm framework from which to make confident, informed decisions of their own. With concise, readable text, and an up-to-date perspective that will bring new ideas into the mainstream, the books will appeal to a wide range of readers, including new parents, health professionals and all those with an interest in birth and parenting. A phenomenal book for everyone who wants or needs to know about periods (which is pretty much all of us!). Bravo Milli”I love this book. Everyone’s going to love this book. Because it gives mothers what they now most need – accurate facts, proper reassurance, and about a thousand reasons to be excited about birth.” There were a couple of other ideas that I thought were absent. I can't think of them off the top of my head and hope to add them here next time I read this book. She made me really anxious about the other possible interventions I'd need. That I'd probably have to have a cesararian, and not be able to get through without strong pain relief. Well guess what! I didn't have a cesararian and I managed on gas and air so it shows what Ms Hill knows. So find your flow, bust some myths and start to feel proud of your monthly cycle and your truly amazing body! Hypnobirthingwill change your mindset towards birth and give you the tools needed so that you can navigate your birth - and any twists and turns - with confidence, feeling calm and in control throughout.
