It was just a lot of brooding, and hiding it from each other that they had feelings- and then BAM, the sudden switch, where everything's suddenly fine. And a lot of their dialogue was so awkward pls. Like it is somewhat okay, that he sleeps around - because there was no hope to be with h (h told him so herself) and he wants to forget- BUT why did he do it so open? why did he bring countless OWs around his big love h? Make out with them in front of her? Later in the book he says to h about all the OWs around her "but you never acted jealous" ..

They really care for each other. And it wasn't just about the two of them, it was about their relationships with her family. Especially the sisters. I really, really feel for Sofi. It's so, so hard being unmarried in our world but 10% times harder to be unmarried as a Christian woman. They insinuate that not having done all these different things like getting drunk, having your first kiss etc is bad. I'm not Christian nor religious and I think the whole purity thing is horrid. The way her dad cried and said she was not a 'little girl' anymore - I wanted to vomit I stupidly didn’t expect the theme of christianity to be so pervasive. The characters in the story are a part of a tight community, devoted to their religion. The mmc is a pastor, a very pious and religious man and remains so. But our fmc is not. She is actually a closeted atheist but keeps going to church to please her family. She is also miserable. In my opinion the main focus was the acceptance of atheists by religious individuals and it was intense. I was sensitive to this topic to begin with, so it felt almost triggering. I liked it but I also hated many of the ideas the mmc and the family presented.

I received ARC for this book and hoped for a lot of possessive moments... i end up DNF, because i just could not go further. I skimmed to sex scene and even after that i was like.. nope. This was a new author to me and I received this as an Arc. I went in blind (as I do with most books) The one line on the cover drew me in. ‘Shes a sinner and im going to prove it’. A big thank you to @authorskymason for the ARC. I've been patiently waiting for Pastor Brandon and Mariana's story, and it did not disappoint.

It turns out that Cole, aka the manwhore, is traumatized with some family stuff and is afraid of commitment. So he rejects her offer because he don't want to lose their friendship.

Cole is DEFINITELY Mason’s more risqué character, and I LOVE that she wasn’t afraid to showcase sexual desires in this book. (I WISH you could see my highlights, but alas, I will not be sharing them with you 😉) Cole is stubborn and delusional when it comes to his own feelings. He’s had a rough example of what “love” looks like. Which was incredibly relatable for me.
