I have always been a die hard Yamaha guy but i just couldn't pull the trigger on the similar offerings by Yamaha, Roland, and others. Aside from its 61 full-size keys with touch response, the CT-S1 packs 61 sounds onboard, including a stellar stereo German grand piano. You can even take lessons using the on-screen keyboard and track your progress using a scoring system! The other two instruments in the range are aimed at the beginner and casual keyboardist, with the CT-S400 boasting 200 accompaniment rhythms (plus an auto-accompaniment system), and the LK-S450 featuring illuminating keys to help even total novices get a pleasing sound out of it.It's been over a year since it was released, and I think it's a great instrument when I actually use it.

I think the optional piano sounds and other sounds that you can listen to with Bank Select MSB2 other than button operations are very good. Presented in a trendy Red finish, the CT-S1 is an instrument that you're bound to keep using for years to come! Casio went for form over function with the CT-S1 and removed all markings telling you the function corresponding with each key.This would also make your keyboard a Bluetooth MIDI device, so you could easily connect to music learning apps like Chordana Play to support your with your musical progress. The only other con for me was that the included 'manual' is nothing more than a quick reference guide, but to get the full manual you have to look it up online.

Also If you're not a pianist you might feel the action is super good, YMMV depending on your requirements of the action. If you were being picky, you could also argue that the super-straightforward interface makes discovering all of the CT-S1’s features a little tricky.The CT-S400 comes with 200 accompaniments you trigger with chords to play-along with as well as a 100 pattern arpeggiator and 12 auto harmonizer. Yes it has more tones, synthy stuff, and traditional Casiotone features like accompaniment, but the S1 seems to have more advanced sounds and speaker tech.
