This helps make the illumination of each key more brilliant, making it easier to find your keys in the dark. On the other hand, the Razer uses linear Optical switches, which have a light actuation force and short-pre travel distance, but you can't customize them like the switches on the Wooting. I did like the Easter egg wherein this keyboard, internally code named Project Maya, has team names/nicknames etched into the case. We are a credit broker not a lender - credit is subject to status and affordability, and is provided by Mitsubishi HC Capitol UK PIC. Solder quality is exceptional throughout, and powering the keyboard is an NXP LPC5528 32-bit Arm Cortex®-M33 USB microcontroller with up to 512 KB flash memory and 256 KB SRAM, providing sufficient room for the hybrid onboard/cloud-based customization options boasted by the Huntsman V2 TKL.

As a result, they aren’t the most feature-rich planks, but the Hunstman V2 TKL proves that its excellent switches and great form factor still make for a fantastic PC gaming companion.

There are also two Keyswitch Optimization modes: Typing mode adds a debounce delay to prevent extra inputs from a single keystroke, and Gaming mode has zero debounce and should make actuation extremely responsive. We tested the full-size variant, but it's also available in a TenKeyLess size, the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL. The Razer Linear Optical switches on our unit are very quiet, thanks to the sound dampening foam inside the board that helps reduce any pinging noises that might occur when you bottom out a key. The camera zooms back out to a wall of quotes, giving a brief recap of all positive feedback about the keyboard.

Since it’s quite a speedster as well with its high polling rate and fast actuation, it takes almost no effort to comfortably and quickly type or press. The V2 includes extra features seen on other recent Razer boards, like dedicated media keys, a multi-function knob that controls the volume by default, PBT keycaps, and a wrist rest.On the other hand, the TE is a TenKeyLess board, which some people might prefer; however, its smaller size means it lacks some of the features that the V2 has, like a numpad, dedicated media keys, and a volume control knob. Once the glue has been heated long enough, use a spudger (a flat plastic tool with a sharp end) or a knife to scrape underneath the feet to peel them off — be careful if using a knife! The only real downside of this keyboard is that there are some key functions missing due to its form factor. However, while it feels very well-built, the larger keys wobble a bit, and some have a different sound and feel than the smaller ones.

This is because these Gen-2 switches have two silicone dampeners inside, which makes disassembly hard without potentially damaging the switches permanently. Doubleshot PBT Keycaps For a Sturdy, Textured Finish: Harder and more durable than regular keycaps, these won’t wear down to a shiny finish and have labels which will never fade thanks to their doubleshot molding process. It boasts impressive optical switches, has good build quality and an included wrist rest, plus loads of RGB. You can also replace the keycaps with any standard sized set, but you’ll have to purchase that separately. Regardless, this is my very first Razer product, and I am excited to begin with the recently launched Huntsman V2 Tenkeyless. The full form factor of this keyboard comes with multi-media keys, something which is missing from the tenkeyless edition. If you're looking for a gaming keyboard, speedy and clear inputs are essential, and this keyboard delivers in that aspect. Most smaller keys feel stable, but the larger ones, like the Spacebar, Shift, Enter, and Backspace, have some wobble, and they have a different sound and feel compared to the smaller keys. Configure them to pause, play, skip and tweak everything from brightness to volume—the ultimate convenience as you enjoy your entertainment.

Take that logo, for example, with Razer still retaining the unmistakable three-headed snake the company's branding is all about. The slim body is built for gamers of all levels, with a durable construction that repels liquids, crumbs and dirt for easy cleanup. However, they provide no tactile feedback, and the pre-travel distance is short, meaning that they may feel too sensitive for some people. Improved with sound dampeners for an even quieter typing experience, the smooth, consistent switches are now also more responsive with up to true 8000 Hz polling rate for lower input latency.

I first encountered this soft, plush wrist rest with the BlackWidow V3 Pro, and here, I’m still in love with it just as much. Overall, this keyboard provides an exceptionally consistent and responsive experience suitable for gaming in any genre at any competitive level. We supply the latest technology solutions to organisations of all sizes across education, public and private sectors, helping thousands of organisations along their own digital transformation journeys. The keyboard comes in both a standard form factor and tenkeyless, with a variety of colour options including black and quartz, but we're testing the tenkeyless version here. They also added something that the enthusiast keyboard world has known about for years: a layer of dampening foam inside the case.
