Kellie Castle and Garden: This stunning 14th-century castle is filled with antique furniture, paintings, and intricate plaster ceilings. The surrounding gardens are equally beautiful, boasting a variety of plants and a scenic pond.

Between the villages there are insanely beautiful clifftop views and pristine wild beaches. Whilst in the villages are incredible places to stay and eat. Plus the walk itself offers easily accessible and straightforward sections. Alternatively, I’ve included the best sections from each village in my Fife posts.St Monans is a tiny village but it has an attractive harbour with a wide walkway on the east pier that leads to a famous(ish) seawall that zigzags in all directions.

One of the more intriguing landmarks in Crail is the Crail Priory Doocot. From the outside I had no idea what it was – it’s a large white cylindrical structure, but there are no windows that would give any sort of clue to what’s inside. Step in, however, and it’s this hollowed out honeycomb space that used to house pigeons! Rather cool. Things to do in Crail The coast has a rich heritage, steeped in tales of fishing traditions, bustling Royal Burghs, and even witch trials. If you’re looking for seaside adventures, there are stunning beaches, tidal swimming pools, water sports and a long distance walking trail on the coast. Amazing food is never far from reach around these parts with quality, local produce found in abundance in the farm shops, eateries and markets. The East Neuk most definitely lives up to its reputation as a foodie destination. Nearby, you can visit the tiny dark cave– St Fillans Cave. According to legend, in the 7th century, the cave was home to St Fillan, a local Irish missionary who tried to convert local Picts to Christianity. The write: "for those seeking the battered crunch of a more traditional seaside treatment, Anstruther’s Wee Chippie arguably trumps the queues and awards of its more famous, vocal neighbour along the harbour." Giddy Gannet Picture: Giddy Gannet The last destination in the East Neuk of Fife is Kingsbarns which lies 5 miles around the coast and past the Kilminning Coast Nature Reserve.Isle of May Boat Trips: A great way to see the Isle of May and its flora and fauna is by taking a boat trip with osprey, a big ten metre Humber Rib which can hold up to 12 passengers. Osprey can take you on a 2-3 hour trip around the island or a shorter voyage around the island to see the puffins, seals, sea cliffs and coastal views from the boat. Find out More From the harbour, you can take a trip on the May Princess to the Isle of May, a National Nature Reserve and home to the UK’s largest puffin colony and lots of grey seals. The boat trip will take you around 4-5 hours and includes 2-3 hours to explore the island. Whilst here, take a short (but steep) walk up Kincraig Steps. At the top you’ll find the most glorious views over Earlsferry Beach and Elie beyond.

Anstruther Billowness Beach: The ideal destination for nature enthusiasts, walkers or those who just want to relax. Find out More Michelin-Starred The Cellar is a cosy eatery that has flourished under the head chef, Billy Boyter. If you’re not aware of the Isle of May, it’s an island nature reserve located 5 miles off the coast of the East Neuk that’s famous amongst birdwatchers for the number of seabirds that call it home. Elie is the first village in the East Neuk and is linked to its neighbouring villages by the Fife Coastal Path, a trail which takes you high above the sea and over the cliffs. The Fife Coastal Path from Elie has dramatic coastal scenery and spectacular views, as well as sweeping views over the town. Once here, you can easily join the path which is reasonably flat. There's ice cream as well, for those warmer summer days by the seaside. The Cellar Picture: The Cellar Kingsbarns is a small village which is a ten-minute drive from St Andrews and is the first stop in the East Neuk of Fife area. The also say: "successive refurbishment has brought the former tavern sharp, vibrant interiors befitting a high standard of dining, while delicately crafted plates including wild turbot baked with lime and ceviche of local lobster speak elegantly of the nearby coastline. Produce grown a few miles inland features throughout." Kinneuchar Inn Kinneuchar Inn
