While the fullness and body are similar on both sides, the nuances listed here will help you choose what is best for you based on your tastes.

But what makes Canadian Whiskey so special? For one, Canadian Whiskey is made from a blend of grains, including corn, rye, wheat, and barley. Likewise, Canadian Club is an affordable whisky on the market, and it’s one of the favourites among drinkers. It gives you the best value for your money. You’ll notice the deep colour when you first pour Canadian Club whisky into your glass. Liquorice is your first nose note as you take a whiff, but you’ll also experience the blend of fennel, apple, and caramel. Canadian Club has received the royal warrants of Queen Victoria, Edward VII, George V, George VI, and Elizabeth II. Hiram Walker & Sons is the only North American distiller to have been granted a royal warrant. [4]

Moonshine is notorious for that whiskey burn. Without the mellowing effects of barrel-aging, this is whiskey straight out of the still, so it’s anything but subtle. Today’s legal moonshine scene is producing some rather impressive whiskeys. Distillers are putting more attention into the craft and taste of this corn liquor, and diluting it to a normal bottling strength takes the edge off. It’s a great time to give ’shine a second taste! Double-matured, first in white oak barrels for at least eight years; then casks from the Sherry wine region (Spain). It is 82.6-proof (41.3% abv). As you can see, there’s no comparison here. I prefer sweeter whiskies that leave a pleasant taste in my mouth after they’ve gone down, so I might be a little biased. Still, I felt that, comparing those five criteria, it was the only score I could produce. Mouthfeel: Honestly, there’s not much of a difference between the two because both are pretty thin and weak here. If you like a sweeter and spicier flavour profile, you will likely go with Canadian Club. Those who prefer a touch of spice with less flavour will enjoy Seagram’s VO.The finish is smooth but short-lived. You’ll experience the caramel flavour and light rye spice up until the end, but it might have a subtle sour note afterward. Mixing whiskey with coke helps bring out some of the subtler notes in the whiskey that might not be as noticeable if you were drinking it straight up. In the 2007 IndyCar Series season, they were main the sponsor for Andretti Green Racing #27 driver, Dario Franchitti during their championship winning season, which also included winning the 2007 Indianapolis 500. Beam Suntory Australia’s Canadian Club and The Monkeys have taken out the prestigious Sustained Success Global Grand Effie Award for their “Who made beer the boss of summer?” campaign.

Because Seagram’s VO takes some time to acclimate to it, you will probably get off the ground faster with Canadian Club. However, if you can give it time and take Seagram’s VO seriously, you’ll likely be rewarded for your patience. Canada is a country known for many things. From its picturesque landscapes to its friendly people and rich cultural heritage, Canada is a land of many wonders. And when it comes to whiskey, Canada has a lot to offer. There are several styles of whiskey, and each has its own characteristics. For instance, bourbon has a classic whiskey taste, rye whiskey is spicy, Canadian whisky and Irish whiskey tend to be very smooth, and Scotch can be smoky. These generalizations can vary from one brand to the next, though as you explore whiskeys, you’ll likely develop a preference for one or two styles.Lemonade is a great way to balance out the strong flavor of rye whiskey, making it a popular mixer for those who want something a bit sweeter. Launched in Australia in April 2001, Canadian Club Mixed & Ready is a ready-to-drink (RTD) mix consisting of a 4.8% ABV pre-mixed blend of six-year-old Canadian Club with dry ginger ale, cola, or soda and lime. It is sold in 330mL bottles and 375mL cans. All flavours are also available in New Zealand. An Australian advertising campaign to pitch Canadian Club to those who were "over beer" was hugely successful, and launched internationally. [9] 6% ABV "Premium Strength" is available only in 375mL cans and is mixed with dry ginger ale. [10] Limited edition / Discontinued [ edit ] If you’re feeling fancy, garnish your drink with a fresh slice of lemon or lime. If you want to get creative with your beverage, try adding other ingredients like fruit slices or herbs.

Canadian Club is a brand of Canadian whisky produced by Beam Suntory. Popularly known as CC, Canadian Club was created by Hiram Walker and Sons, an evolution of a brand around a product that took place over the second half of the nineteenth century. Hiram Walker merged with Gooderham & Worts, Ltd. in 1926, yielding Hiram Walker-Gooderham & Worts, Ltd. Irish whiskey is characteristically smooth and mixable. It’s also generally reasonably priced, with just a few bottles stretching into the luxury market. While there are some well-known brands that are nice to drink, 2 Gingers is a good change of pace at a price that’s hard to beat. It’s a product of the Kilbeggan Distillery, so it has a well-regarded name in this whiskey style behind it. Though this review sounds pretty negative so far, Seagram’s VO isn’t bad. It’s pretty unremarkable, but it’s easy to drink. I will say it has a hint of sweetness, but that bitter finish will detract from the appeal. If you prefer sweet beverages, this might not be the bottle for you. On the first sip, the initial feeling makes you question “Is it water or alcohol?” Overall, the taste is very thin. You won’t get much flavour here. There’s certainly a feeling of drinking alcohol, and it will burn. Likewise, the artificial whisky notes are there if you focus on them. On the palate I also felt they were quite similar, but I did give Canadian Club an extra point because of the caramelised sugar and baking spice. Overall, I believe it was just a warmer, tastier option. Though you don’t necessarily get the acetone flavour from Seagram’s VO, the citrus really took me off guard. Paired with the nail polish smell, it was overpowering. Many whiskey distilleries produce a range of whiskeys that vary in price. If there’s a brand that you enjoy, see what else they offer because there may be a cheaper bottle available. It may not be quite as good or smooth as the higher-priced whiskey, but it will likely have some of the same characteristics. Also, some whiskey makers don’t promote their cheapest bottles and focus marketing efforts on the more popular expressions. Keep an eye out for hidden budget-conscious gems from names you trust. This sweet but tart combination makes for an incredibly smooth drink that everyone will love. The sweetness from the lemonade helps to cut through the bold taste of the whisky while still allowing its flavor to shine through. Can You Mix Canadian Club with Coke Overall, the numbers summarise my true experience with each whisky. I feel very firm about Canadian Club being the winner. A print ad for the drink would serve as inspiration [7] for the pre-title sequence of the 1977 Bond movie, The Spy Who Loved Me.
