Star Wars Legion: Clone Commander New Product Announcement - Star Wars Legion: Clone Commander

Celebrating 20 years of the Clone Wars are the first prequel-era helmets to join the ever-expanding Helmet Collection, and will be released on 1 March 2023. The helmet design gets a lot of things right, and I especially love the use of negative space for the eyes and face, followed by the layered plates for the harder angles to get that Clone look just right. Rounds of gameplay continue until one side has met the scenario's victory condition, one side has no remaining figures (in which case their opponent wins), or 6 rounds have been fully played.

Observe 2: Cody gets a really nifty keyword here. Observe 2 as a free action gives Cody the ability to put observe tokens down at range 3 for free. This really helps up his offensive ability. The strength of this command card is really in being able to play a one-pip, and on your first activation have a free aim from Target, four observe tokens, and possibly another aim from an aim action. This combined with a Fire Support can really mess some stuff up as the first activation of the turn. One down side of Fire Supports is you often need to ‘spool them up’ to get maximum effectiveness. A Cody Fire Supported here can really apply the heat. While the basic mechanics of movement in Legion will be quite familiar to veteran players, there was one item that throughout our observation and playtesting we found to be quite unintuitive in how it affected gameplay. Commander Cody Joins The Fight In Star Wars: Legion Soon

Eminently loyal and effective at leading his troops in missions ranging from simple skirmishes to delicate infiltrations, Cody is a leader capable of getting the job done. Here’s my Helmet collection that I have on display, and as you can see my space is beginning to fill up, but Commander Cody and Captain Rex both look splendid alongside some of the other Star Wars (and non-Star Wars) helmets. Take Cover 1: At first glance this may seem strange on a clone trooper but it’s often an improvement on simply self dodging for a few reasons. First, he can give it to anything including a vehicle or a Jedi “friend.” Second, he can add a portable scanner to get some efficiency out of it and generate two (often shareable) dodges with one action, very nice. Third, on turns where he’s totally hiding you can take cover and then dodge. Even the smallest beings can change the course of a battle. That’s exactly what happened when the Ewok Paploo stole an Imperial speeder bike in the lead-up to the Battle of Endor. Learn Play of the game occurs over six rounds. Players first select a Command Card from their hand (which they created when they built their army). The Command Card determines who goes first, as well as allowing their commander to issue commands to nearby units.Target 1: Another amazing ability that will give Cody an aim token at the start of probably every turn. This, along with observe tokens, makes going for an activation one shot and/or firesupport even better. The free aim also works well with Lethal 1, as you can use the aim to get pierce and the observe tokens for rerolls. Price Firstly, the good bits. LEGO have done a remarkable job adapting the Phase 2 helmet into the design, nailing the overall silhouette and shape of the helmet, which is no mean feat for a helmet with plenty of curves. LEGO will continue to add to the Helmet Collection, as these are fairly collectable, and LEGO Star Wars fans seem to generally like buying them, and with such a vast library, you can be assured that there’s many more helmets to come, so unless you want to, don’t treat it like an obligation to collect every single one, and instead just pic up the ones you like. March 22, 2018 [2] [Source] Star Wars: Legion is an asymmetrical two player infantry-based wargame published by Fantasy Flight Games. The game re-enacts the Galactic Civil War with one player acting as the Rebel Alliance and the others acting as the Galactic Empire, and includes over 33 assembled miniatures as well as several cards. It was first announced on August 18, 2017, and the Core Set was released on March 22, 2018. The game was later expanded to offer Clone Wars-era content as well.

Here’s a look at the instructions, which also feature an introduction and foreword by LEGO Star Wars Creative Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen. Dear AMG: If you have art for the shot above with the title “When have I ever let you down?” then I will love you, and also hate you, forever Bonus: Clone personnel?! Star Wars: Legion invites you to enter the ground battles of the Galactic Civil War as the commander of a unique army of miniatures filled with troopers, powerful ground or repulsor vehicles, and iconic characters like Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. While innovative mechanics for command and control simulate the fog of war and the chaos of battle, the game's unpainted, easily assembled minis give you a canvas to create the Star Wars army you've always wanted to lead into battle—whether you fight for the monolithic, oppressive Galactic Empire or the ragtag Rebel Alliance. Gameplay Overview [ ] Surge to crit: Good to have in this here faction, see below for my “Fun with Fire Support” examplesCommand slot: Aggressive Tactics when he’s the only named Commander, lots of other choices when he isn’t. The Mandalorian Super Commandos bend the galaxy to Maul’s will in this expansion for Star Wars: Legion! Previously members of the notorious Death Watch, these elite Mandalorian warriors now follow Maul because he wields the Darksaber. With them, players have a powerful new special forces option for their Shadow Collective forces. Star Wars Legion: Gar Saxon a Mandalorian Commander expansion Note the cost is cut-off and dark here but it’s also “15.” It also gives Scout 1 which is neat but Guardian 1 is very interesting on a potentially very cheap unit. At 67 points a Boil-only Phase 1 would be the cheapest permanent guardian in the game, and while it’s one fewer guardian value and 3 fewer health than a naked IRG this unit would have more access to surges via Aggressive Tactics or Bolster (it would likely not be able to share other clone’s surge tokens when doing guardian rolls based on the way the rules are currently written) and it would be able to do something other than act as a sponge since it can take aims and dodges its friends can use. Things are looking up for the Galactic Republic! Finally, I think it’s worth speculating about the potential for a 212th Battle Force. This would basically be “501st with Cody and Obi instead of Rex and Anakin,” but as we all know the part that really matters is the cards and force org they put with it. Based on the inclusion of Waxer and Boil, we can guess that if they were going to do a Battle Force then it would be based on Ryloth and have somewhat of a Phase 1 and AT-RT focus.
