The site's critical consensus reads, " The Cabin in the Woods is an astonishing meta-feat, capable of being funny, strange, and scary — frequently all at the same time.

Possibly a reference to the snake creature in Season 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), or the giant snake in Resident Evil (1996). Mordecai tells them that they'll have enough gas to get to the cabin, "but getting back, that's your concern. The Director urges Dana to kill Marty to complete the ritual, as all other rituals failed that year. A guard confronts them with his gun drawn, but is distracted by Judah Buckner's still-moving severed arm.Dana is attacked by a werewolf, while Patience kills The Director; Marty proceeds to kill all except Dana. There is revelation after revelation about who Rose is, what she did, and how she got herself in this predicament. The "past" chapters were engrossing, without giving too much background information/unnecessary detail, while the "present" chapters were thrilling and suspenseful. One day she decides to disappear to a cabin in the woods in upstate and is hopeful that she cannot be found there.

I have read many books by this author and they have all been excellent, looking forward to the next one. I wouldn't say it's bringing anything new to the "creepy cabin in the woods" type genre but its still a good and captivating read. not only that but i was still in the edge of my seat during the whole book and i couldn't put it down once i started reading. Taut in pace and brimming with suspense… I was absolutely hooked and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Sitterson and Hadley remain complacent, stating that Japan is number one and has never failed, while they are number two since they always try hard.

As wild places become increasingly scarce and threatened, John Muir’s writing is more important than ever.i clarify this part first, obviously, just in case someone doesn't want to read those topics, but also to clarify i deal with none of those things first hand, so i can't speak in terms of how the representation was done. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of thrillers, mysteries or even just a fast-paced read.
