Description

I use it for combi-rigs to Merlin as a boom section, for mono hooklinks and as the material for D rigs. I also like amnesia in 20lb clear and have used it for years for hook lengths and combi rigs again straightens very easily just by pulling, its funny you mention the think link i thought that was awful very hard to straighten without steam and would partly lose its shape after a while in the water, unless i had a bad spool To be honest mate I can destroy anything between 2 pulla type tools😂😂 You really can put some pressure on👍

I reverted to a figure of 8 knot which seems very strong and with a bit of practice you can easily make the loops as small as you need. I've not used the Boom material but have been krimping to Hybrid Stiff for the last few years and have never had a single hooklink snap. Why not test both materials and compare the two? I'd be interested to hear your results.I've used Think link in 25lb and not had any problems with it. Not sure it's much better than Amnesia though. With boom or similar, you need to do a couple of things to get the best out of it, - pre stretch it when first crimped, this does two things takes out all pre stretch that a fish may cause, then blob the tag ends. You won't get stronger than this. This will make it sit better, make it stronger and make sure that it won't slip.

It is a good point Gerry makes though, pulling as you are doing is not the same comparison as a fishing situation where you have the stretch of the mono and the cushion of the rod. True a breaking strain should be exactly that but I have been using Boom for as long as it has been out and never had a link snap... You can’t be doing it right I don’t think mate. Where are they snapping? Did you crimp loops into them? IQ2 Flourocarbon is a softer version of Korda’s legendary IQ. This softness makes it a versitile hook link material, which gives free movement to even quite light hookbaits. Just like the normal IQ, IQ2 is nigh-on invisible in water. the way the light passes through the material is quite close to the way that it moves through water, rendering you hook links very difficult for carp to detect I’ve been crimping Korda iq2 in 20lb with no issues. If you can’t pull it apart with 2 pulla tools it will never go when playing a fish.

Have fished last year with only Korda booms and loops no problem at all, not a single snapped, so very satisfied with Korda's booms/loops. It’s easy to work with and takes a knot well. Palomar will work perfectly. I’ve also got away with crimping the 25lb, but I wouldn’t want to say it’s better than a knot. korda boom out in couple months. I love the 25lb but can see myself changing to the 15lb. Cannot beat crimping imo.
