Ideal complement to the Greatest Hits 1 for those who want to have in two CD's most of Queen's work, this volume continues today to maintain the myth. This grouping collects all versions and editions of the "Greatest Hits II" compilation, originally released on 28. It reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, spending four weeks at the top and sold consistently well throughout the 1980s, becoming the fourth-biggest selling album of the decade. This is a slight edit of the single version of the track which appears on the 1984 album ' The Works'. Accumulated sales ( Greatest Hits II and Classic Queen for the US and Canada combined) are in excess of 25 million worldwide.

Much like its predecessor, a trio of packages – Hits, Flix, and Pix – was unleashed, with the "hits" collection rounding up seventeen of Queen's most beloved singles from between 1981 and 1991. Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the British rock band Queen, released worldwide on 26 October 1981. This is the first time that one of the Top Ten biggest selling albums of all time in the UK’s cover has been re-worked. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The other sixteen tracks on the album collected the best and finest from the decade prior, meaning that, again, nothing that didn't reach the UK Top 30 was included. The 17 tracks were universal, with no territorial variations as with the first Greatest Hits compilation. In 1991, Queen sought to issue a second Greatest Hits collection worldwide, this time with a standard track listing.

The Show Must Go On was a perfect career summation for the band, though no one knew at the time it would be the last single released in Freddie's lifetime. The US ended up with its original edit of Queen's first single release, " Keep Yourself Alive", originally released in 1973 and re-released in the US in 1975, following the success of " Bohemian Rhapsody". It would later re-appear as part of the " Greatest Hits I + II" set (1994) as well as " The Platinum Collection" (2000). It is the seventh best-selling album in Germany, the thirteenth best-selling album in France, and the best-selling album by a foreign artist in Finland.
