The plot of the murder mystery is by far the strongest of the two (murder vs mates), and held my attention for the entire read. They have a very loving and supportive relationship, but all that is ripped away when she discovers his cold, dead body. He’s been murdered and the bounty hunter business has fallen into her lap. With more responsibilities than ever and two shifters who refuse to leave her side, Sadie is struggling under the weight of grief and vengeance to catch her father’s killer.I was highly annoyed that once the M/M aspect was included there seemed to really be no M/F/M interaction and overall it felt as if Sadie was an afterthought as opposed to equally important. The MM relationship was given a lot of screen time in this story for the reader to witness development and degree of intensity for the feeling of love/desire from each character—which as a relationship in itself was lovely and given the attention I would have liked to see all members and connections within the polyamorous/HR/family relationship… This was the mail in the coffin to me. I wanted a RH, not two different relationships—which is what it ended up feeling like. Mated wolves will also sleep together at night.
