Vs Aria (3/5): Aria is simply more detailed and textured than ZSN Pro X. The differences are apparent in the Memories and My Heart Will Go On. Kudos to Raghav and the team. I wonder what this pair would sound like with the DCO2 Dac from ibasso. Is that still available? This is where my main complaint lies with the sound quality of the ZSN Pro X. The treble is also a little bit boosted and it’s fine most of the time, but occasionally this leads to some harshness/sibilance which can be pretty distracting.

This applies for most countries. However, large items such as headphones and desktop DAC/AMPs (e.g. HarmonicDyne G200, MUSICIAN MDP-2, and etc.) are excluded. Bass is easy to achieve, Clarity of sound, Space and Highs are tough. That's where your money goes and the diaphragm drivers just don't do that as easily as how Balanced Armature drivers can do. It handles quite well and is less prone to tangling than the older brown cable in my experience. At the top are the hooded, transparent 2-pin connector housings, followed by heat-shrink pre-formed ear guides. On some aspects, I think ZSN Pro X was successful. It stomps those bullet-style, cheap earphones in supermarkets and bookstores on both sonic performance and build quality.

Vs ER2SE (4/5): Speed vs speed. ZSN Pro X is more or less in the ballpark with ER2SE, but it is slightly worse in rendering the rhythm lines led by string instruments, so ER2SE wins this round. Speed-wise, ZSN Pro X was also responsive enough to keep up with the Imperial March's marching rhythm and the complex drum lines in MS Gundam: Iron-blooded Orphans. The soundstage is average in size and slightly wider than it is deep. Vocals and the general stage position are forward, putting the listener close to the action. Stereo imaging is solid and layering is moderate. The instrument separation is good for a budget IEM, as is detail retrieval but overall resolution is par for the course. ComparisonsThis is not a neutral or natural midrange, but if you’re after an exciting presentation without much regard for accuracy this will serve you well. The sub-bass has a smooth rumble and ZSN Pro X has a controlled mid-bass punch. It’s quite a fast bass with a fast decay and the quality of it is really impressive for such an affordable IEM. Listening to OSI’s “Enemy Prayer”, I can’t help being impressed by how this new dynamic driver performs. I think the bass is where these IEMs stand out the most. It is very present and very impactful, and is especially noticeable if you listen to genres like Hip Hop/Rap/EDM. The bass is a little boosted and does sometimes sound a little muddy, but overall helps to create a “fun” sound signature for these. Bass: The ZST X gets a very prominent sub-bass boost that starts right below 100Hz and goes climbing until 20Hz. The sub-bass is boosted by at least 5/6dB over the mid-bass, so a lot of the bass-texture is lost in the process. It is a punchy listen though, and won’t bother you if you’re mostly after extension and punch instead of texture and subtlety. Bass isn’t too invasive and doesn’t bleed much into the lower-mids. In fact, the mids sound detached from the lows, giving rise to tonal incoherency. Then again, I should probably not complain much about these in a cheap hybrid.
