The theme was def unique and enjoyable to listen to all the way through. Production is also just chopped up so fantastically and i love the use of pretty much every sample. Bit of a stylistic precursor to DangerDoom, but less childish: a blistering Raekwon-style story of a late night gone expectedly dull, relieved by a computer screen and a dominant hand. On the surface, MM.. Food is a concept album about food. Every song on here is titled after some sort of edible substance and the word food is sampled more times than you can count. The production on this album is fantastic and is probably the most refined out of DOOM's career. The sources are obscure and he even samples Frank Zappa at one point. Mmm...Food stands as a testament to MF DOOM's unparalleled creativity and musical ingenuity. This album exemplifies DOOM's ability to seamlessly blend complex beats, skillful sampling, and mind-bending lyricism. It demands and rewards multiple listens, unveiling new layers of depth with each spin. The original release of the album included a different version of "Kookies". It was removed due to an unlicensed sample from Sesame Street, and was promptly changed to a simpler version of the song in all future physical and digital releases. MF Doom - MM.. Retrieved 17 August 2019.One Beer is a standout piece delves into the consequences of overindulgence, emphasizing DOOM's storytelling genius. The playful melody, expertly flipped sample, and DOOM's intricate wordplay combine to create an unforgettable auditory experience. MF Doom described Mm..Food as a concept album "about the things you find on a picnic, or at a picnic table". [1] The album's titles and lyrics contain references to different foods, some with common metaphors and double entendres in the "street world" and the "nutritional realm". [2] Even after all these years MM..FOOD remains a satisfying feast for both returning true believers, as well as herds of new fans who happily and eventually find their listening ears in the clutches of DOOM. And, while MM..FOOD is mostly the work of a mad scientist in his secret lair, a sprinkling of super-villain team ups with Count Bass D, Madlib, PNS of The Molemen, Stahhr, and Mr. Fantastik, all add to the album's overall flavor.

MF DOOM finally released a followup to Operation: Doomsday under the "MF DOOM" moniker with MM..FOOD in late '04. I say "finally" not because of the 5 year gap so much as the fact that there were a lot of LPs released in that time that were not credited to "MF DOOM" (Metal Fingers albums, Viktor Vaughn albums, two releases with MF Grimm, and of course the ubiquitous Madvillainy). Kon Karne' acts as a tibute to DOOM's late brother, Subroc. Each verse starts off with a simile which aligns with the 'Love is' sample, signifying the love he has for Subroc. He talks about how his raps aren't always appreciated because of how weird they are but knows that Subroc would be proud of him. Soults, Franklin (31 December 2004 – 6 January 2005). "MF Doom: MM . . One apex point along that journey took place circa 2003/2004 with DOOM releasing Viktor Vaughn Parts 1 & 2, Madvillainy with Madlib (a legend in his own right), King Geedorah’s Take Me To Your Leader, and MM..FOOD all in that short and explosive timeframe. While all of those projects have been revered by fans and critics alike, MM..FOOD is the only album that officially exists as the proper follow-up to Operation: Doomsday.
