The HDMI and Thunderbolt ports on your Mac mini support video output, so you can connect an external display, a projector, or a high resolution TV. First introduced with the 15-inch MacBook Pro, 13.3-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook and 24-inch LED Cinema Display in late 2008, Mini DisplayPort was initially a video-only affair -- despite the DisplayPort specification also allowing digital audio to flow over the same connection. That changed in April, 2010, when the MacBook Pro lineup was the first to push video and audio over the same Mini DisplayPort cable. Connect one display with up to 4K resolution at 60 Hz using the HDMI port and up to two external displays with up to 6K resolution at 60 Hz using the Thunderbolt ports. For Mac mini with Apple M2, you can connect up to two external displays in the following configurations:
