Description

Hydrate-80 provides powerful protection to rusted steel surfaces, its electrochemical function stabilises existing corrosion by converting the iron oxides into a protective metal complex and it also combines with surface moisture and oxygen depriving the corrosion process of the conditions it requires. To most people, having a headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, and mental fuzziness are all warning signs. I don't think you would want to spread filler over a large area of Hydrate 80 as it's quite shiny and wouldn't necessarily grip very well. Having spent time putting really nasty chemicals through piping systems at significant pressure, mixing ferrules can be a bad experience.

I now get to choose between carefully drilling each of then out, trying to chase the tiny imperial threads, and finding replacement brass bolts, or drilling the original inserts right out and replacing them with M3 stainless Rivnuts instead. On the mig forum there has also been discussion about the Lechler 29107 epoxy primer, which although described as 2 pack, is possibly non iso. I do want to be able to use this thing this winter if need be, so I thought "S*d it" and threw some paint on the bits that I wanted going black.

Wash hands with soap and water after contact and in case of contact with eyes wash with plenty of running water and seek medical attention. Well, the tank needed a little more soldering work than I'd expected, and I still wasn't anywhere near happy with the level of my prep work I'd managed to do, but today's been the only time I've felt up to messing about with this in a week (Almost constant mid level dizziness has been dictating what I've been capable of doing without it being too dangerous when I fall over.

The carboxylic acids like citric acid and oxalic reacts with the iron atoms in the rust to form iron oxalate which is highly soluble and hence the rust is removed - it dissolves in the solution. As with all treatments preparation is important: Remove loose, flaky rust with a wire brush and abrasive paper (or if favoured power tools). Where rapid work progress is required, Hydrate 80 can usually be over coated after 3 hours without performance loss. That's what BH tell you so I would believe them if they say not suitable in this application especially if it turns out to leave some sort of plastic residue. In that photo, the pot on top was just me seeing how long it took to boil a litre of water (18 minutes in that thermally sub optimal shaped cafetiere if you're curious), and the disc of 10mm steel was just to see how hot a (non chimney blocking) lid would get, then it stayed there as a sort of heat spreader. This rust killer forms an effective barrier against water and air, preventing the formation of rust on home appliances and other metallic objects.

Dynax-s50 has been proven in long-term testing – most recently by the Material Science Department at Herefordshire University – to substantially beat other waxes in impartial and side-by-side testing. The electrochemical function stabilizes existing corrosion by converting the iron oxides into a protective metal complex. It is easy to apply and relatively innocuous - although I wore gloves, I didn't fear for my health as much as I've done with other products. It's a cute little baby "Valor Minor 64" boiling stove, and apart from the dusting of surface rust on the chimney, it's in a really nice usable condition.

It's plated with a thick layer of some slightly soft metal that didn't seem to like the Deox C it had a long bath in, but as it's hidden by the lid, I'm not sure if I'm going to paint it. In my experience with Hydrate 80, rust started to come back again after 6 months, so it wasn't a durable solution for me. Also, what kind of temperatures could whatever it turns rust into take once it had finished reacting?
