Many of our customers have loved using this book together with one of our wooden fairy doors. The book can be read on the night that the Dummy Fairy is coming to your house and any time before or after that.

I am thrilled to have The Story of the Dummy Fairy as this month’s featured book. Studies show that reading to premature babies is beneficial as it: Bea gets to meet the fairy, who shows her that it IS possible to give up dummies without shedding a single tear.Say the dog ate it and there are no more – it works with the bottle as well, that way they can’t get cranky at you.”– Amber We set up a reward chart, giving little treats if he could do without it for the amount of time we set each day. Eventually, he just got used to having it less and less, then not at all.”– Lucy Daniel's story : My son used his dummy both as as a tactile object with his hands and in his mouth when going to sleep. By age 2, we replaced that with a soft toy. He had two slightly upset days where he asked for it at nap time and then he completely forgot about it. For many babies and toddlers, a dummy is one of life’s great pleasures. The humble pacifier takes tots to their happy place by providing comfort, calm and even reducing the risk of SIDS during nap time.

I tied my sons to a helium balloon and when it was dark we let them float up to the babies in the sky. I think he took it better than me, and never asked for it again.”– Angela We told my son that we would need to stop using a dummy well before he starts school and that he needs to show us he can be a big boy before school starts. After about two weeks of just talking about the fact he needed to not have it to be a big boy he came and gave them to me one day and said he didn’t need it anymore and was now a big boy. Never asked for it again.”– Kimberly Popped all the dummies in a magical box and on Christmas day the reindeers take all the dummies. They left behind a trail of sparkles and glitter and a special present. It worked too.”– Shelley Hawthorne The children's picture book Daniel And The Dummy Fairy Book, may help your child to ditch their dummy with less stress.

Sneaky sabotage

We had a ‘big boy’ party – balloons, cake the works. Part of that was saying goodbye to the dummy. My boy put it in the bin himself. Had a rough week, but it was needed to happen at some point.”– Sophie Taking it to the zoo and donating it to a baby animal. With lots of preparation for our daughter and a gift. We donated it to the baby giraffe. Our daughter just threw it into the trash can in front of the giraffe house.”– Ada Indy was approaching 4, Maddie my second daughter had cried for 2 years solid and Indy still had a dummy – by this time it was a crutch for both of us and I am not sure which of us was more daunted by the prospect of getting rid of it!’ Lisa Bonner We gave ours to our friends baby who was still in her tummy… worked amazingly only two days of asking, wanting to see the photo. And she was addicted at a time for two years.”– Bec

Daniel has just turned two and is ready to give away his dummies. Read this children’s picture book so that your child can see what happens when Daniel meets Daisy the Dummy Fairy?

Customer reviews

We set a date on the calendar that we would be visiting the zoo (his favourite place) but said we could only go if he had given up the dummy by then. So he had time to get used to the idea, and a reward at the end.”– Rach The book follows the story of a little girl called Bea, who refuses to give up her dummy. Then one night her mother persuades her to leave all her dummies outside her room for the 'Dummy Fairy' to take to Fairyland - (in exchange for a special gift).

It can delay their speech development. At this age, it's important for babies to practice babbling and talking often. If your baby always has a dummy in their mouth, they won't be able to practice as much, and their speech development could suffer as a result. Daniel and the Dummy Fairy Book is written by Australia Mama Leisa Papa with vibrant illustrations by Karen Mounsey-Smith. This book introduces little ones to the sweetest Dummy Fairy you can imagine. In psychotherapy, enabling promotes a negative sense of encouraging dysfunctional behaviour to make the enablers life easier. When children grow into big boys and girls, Dummy Fairy will come on just the right night to take all of that child's dummies to another child in need. To make things even more exciting, Dummy Fairy leaves a gift for the child too. Daniel and the Dummy Fairy Book is easy to read and shows relatable, engaging characters that may help ease transition to a time without dummies. Saying goodbye to the dummy made easier

Slowly does it

ADD On - A Dummy Fairy Reciept which you can fill out and add to your baby box along with their other memorable items such as their hospital wrist band. Dummy fairy didn’t work for us, neither did cutting it in half. What did work for us is I said I will put it in the dishwasher and wash it because it’s a bit dirty and when he was at daycare I took it out and slit it down the middle (didn’t cut the top off like last time). I left it in the dishwasher and when it was time to go to bed he remembered that I put it in there and when he got it he said, ‘oh no mummy its broken’. He tried to put it in his mouth a few times but it wasn’t the same so he said I don’t want it any more. If I had of known it was that easy I would’ve done that a year ago!”– Deanna Daisy the Dummy Fairy has a very special job to do. When children grow big enough to give away their dummies, she flutters into their house at night to collect them, leaving every child a surprise to find in the morning!
