Unaware of that (as my Argon Eon was constantly connected to the network) I run into some troubles caused by my NAS’ time being constantly reset to 2020! Instructions a bit vague, skipping a step: you *really* need to remove the rear IO shield before you try to shove the Raspberry Pi in. I’m just trying to install the scripts, however installation process hangs, apparently while starting argononed.

port to connect to all 4 drives and the transfer speed will be limited to what the CPU can handle too. Ahead of the retail release we secured an Argon EON for review and put it through its paces during a week of tests and typical work scenarios.I'm generally quite pleased, but I do disagree with the author of the review about the ease of use of OpenMediaVault. Tom's Hardware is part of Future US Inc, an international media group and leading digital publisher.

I would like to replace the SD Card with an small SATA SSD for installing OMV (it this possible at all? New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . For the software we followed Argon’s guidance and downloaded the latest Raspberry Pi OS, but we did deviate a little. I have an entire article dedicated to the differences between Synology Diskstation and Argon Eon setup – check it out! The black, opaque acrylic panels are mounted thanks to embedded magnets and are probably the weakest link of this design.

Hey hey, i dont know a lot about network and the responding tech, and even less about network tech using a raspberry pi… i just wanted to ask; is it possible to use the argon eon just for a normal server? The install process worked with no issues but running the Python test script caused the Argon EON to lock up. All Rapsberry Pi Operating Systems (Raspberry Pi OS, Open Media Vault,Twister OS, Ubuntu for Raspberry Pi, etc. The bitchy solution is to power down, remove the SSD and plug it back on a PC via USB and clone it with Balena/Win32DiskImager/USBimager/etc. Monitoring what that does to drive temperatures now - running it at "1%" permanently, only speeding up if the CPU gets above 50°C.

Argon has made use of the same passive cooling techniques that are used in the NEO and ONE cases, and a 60mm fan is pre-mounted to cool the whole enclosure down in case it gets toasty! I can now sleep more calmly knowing that my Argon Eon is less prone to micro SD card corruption and potential data loss. I think it's even made it a bit quieter, now it's not as snugly pressed against the solid metal lid. The case includes a vast array of bonus features, the power button doubles as an OLED that can be used to display temperatures, the NAS's IP address, and many others.Seems high - I forgot to take a reading before I installed the drives, so I need to remove 'em and check again. I'm going to dig into the fan control script and see if there's a way to add hard drive temperature monitoring in there - the USB-SATA bridge passes SMART through with '-d sat' in smartctl, so it should be doable. I've taken it out and flipped it around, so it's extracting hot air from the top of the case instead of just redistributing it.
