Description

Moreover, rinsing your kettle descaler ball under your running tap gives it a longer life and allows you to use it over and over again. It won’t rust, and is surprisingly robust for something that looks like a tangled ball of fuse wire. There’s no concrete evidence that this will solve your limescale problems completely, but a good-quality filter will massively improve your water quality. Failing to wash your kettle descaler ball will cause whatever limescale it has collected to eventually accumulate and harden.

It’s usually off-white in colour, but it can also be grey, pink, or even a reddish-brown in some cases. As such, if your kettle has already accumulated a fair amount of limescale buildup, it’s best to clean it first using an organic solution before you start using a descaler ball. Using a kettle descaler ball is effortless and faster to use compared to other kettle descaling methods. If your kettle has a flip lid, leave this open after use to allow any lingering water to evaporate after the kettle has boiled. It’s more common, and builds up more quickly, in areas supplied with ‘hard water’ – water that has picked up significant quantities of minerals while flowing through calcium-rich rocks like limestone, chalk, and sandstone. This is because soap works by bringing together grime and water to lift away the dirt on your dishes, but in hard water the soap binds to calcium ions and forms an insoluble substance known as calcium stearate – we know it as scum. So, they’ve created products to help you clean and revitalise items in your home in a short space of time.

Limescale is the insoluble calcium and magnesium deposits that are left behind when hard water evaporates. There’s no need for you to worry about measurements or spilling solution on the floor, because Home Master have done all the hard work for you. This works by the mesh ball collecting most of the limescale while the rest of the deposits settle on their kettle’s side, base, and heating element.

Once the timer goes, you need to re-boil the kettle, tip the water out, and rinse the kettle multiple times. The heating element in your kettle starts to become less effective, meaning it takes longer to boil water and is therefore less energy efficient.
