In my experience, the various Vivitar Series 1 f/3.5 or f/2.8-4 are all good, with my 5th version (Q-DOS) best (unless you put it in Q-DOS mode, in which case it's terrible). My Kiron 70-210mm f/4, Minolta Beercan, Soligor C/D 80-200mm f/4.5, and Minolta MD 100-200mm f/5.6 are also all solid "A" performers although there are various differences. Which is the better option between the 200-4R vs the 700R4 transmission can be determined by a number of factors and these are: 1. Purpose of the Car If you are looking for a way to upgrade your classic muscle car’s Powerglide or TH350, then you would be hard-pressed to find a better answer than the 700R4, or the 200-4R. Yet while the 700R4 is often seen as the more popular successor to the throne of the TH350, the 700R4 is not going to squeeze into every build, not is it necessarily the best fit for your car – especially if you are going forward with a lot of aftermarket work in mind.

But if you are concerned or simply interested in the build, I can highly recommend the Lens Rentals teardown article on the RF 2.8 model which shows what’s going on inside, revealing a very reassuring degree of build quality.GM 200-4R transmissions are becoming harder and harder to find, but they remain a great replacement for an older two-speed Powerglide or a three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic. The reason for this is because you don’t have to make major adjustments. Plus, the fourth gear lets the engine rotate at a lower RPM, reducing fuel consumption and wear and tear on the drivetrain. You can also change the larger rear axle ratios without affecting streetability.
