Pampero was founded in 1938 by Alejandro Hernández, the son of Dr. Amador Hernandez and Dolorita Hernandez from Juan Griego, Margarita. White rums just tend to get talked about all that much. There doesn’t seem to be a white rum that everyone really agrees on. Plantation 3 stars is the most lauded but I have to say I’m not that sold on that one. People just don’t seem al l that excited about white rum. Aromas of vanilla, cooked banana and hints of caramel and butterscotch. The palate is buttery with toffee brittle, peanut butter and spice. The soft oak finish is complimented with lingering spice. Many white rums are barrel-aged for several years and then filtered through charcoal to remove the inherited colour (and other impurities).

Un altro elemento caratterizzante del Pamperoè il processo di produzione che prevede l'utilizzo di canna da zucchero freschissima, una tripla distillazione e lo sfruttamento del clima sub-tropicale che, imbrigliato ad arte dai maestri delle distillerie Pampero, permettono una maturazione più rapida del distillato rispetto a quelli prodotti in zone dal clima più temperato. Questa maturazione avviene in botti di rovere bianco precedentemente utilizate per la distillazione del whisky e dona al protto semilavorato una colorazione giallo tenue che viene succssivamente eliminata tramite il filtraggio a carboni attivi che conferisce a Pampero Blanco l'accattivante colorazione bianco opalescente.
