One of the standout strengths of the book is its well-developed and complex characters. It was difficult to annotate because there's a new POV and new characters who i love a lot, so i definitely had a field day putting hearts in the margins. Also I love juliette ferrars so much. SO MUCH. A lot of readers find this rather annoying, but you get used to it as you go along. Her internal struggle with her powers and the ethical use of them plays a pivotal role in her character arc.
