Whether that is to university, an apprenticeship or your into the world of work, we build on the strong foundations of academic excellence set at GCSE and offer a personalised education that is tailored to you. Children receiving universal Free School Meal provision in primary school settings are not eligible. But all is not lost as most councils will pay the money out in early January if you are late registering your child, but it's recommended you do it as soon as possible to ensure you qualify for the support.

At Worcester Sixth Form College we are looking forward to welcoming you as our students and newest members of our community. The ‘Post 16 Mindset’ offers a framework to help with motivation, organisation, effort, and attitude, whilst the ‘Worcester Working Week’ provides guidance on the amount of time that you should be spending on College work, and enrichment. Several tasks have been attached to this area to help familiarise you with these principles. Please complete the tasks and bring them with you to your first tutorial session at College in September. c) A child/young person may qualify for Free School meals at local authority discretion if their household experience financial hardship. This could be because: SOAR (Stanford Online Academic Readiness) is a 5-week online program. Students can take either or both of two classes, one of which helps develop math skills to prepare students to start with Math 19, the main Single Variable Calculus course, and the other focuses on the development of crucial writing skills. b) by the end of the second week of November if the request to register for Free School Meals was made after 23 September.

Children/young people who receive Free School Meals as a result of local authority discretion, including those with no recourse to public funds, are eligible. Children/young people receiving Free School Meals based on universal provision (P1 – P5) are not eligible. Children receiving free lunches in Early Learning and Childcare settings are not eligible. Finally, SSEA (the Stanford Summer Engineering Academy) is a four-week program where students come to campus to partake f in Math and Computer Science classes and community-enhancing experiences. As its name suggests, this is intended for students who have at least some interest in majoring in engineering, although that is not a requirement.Students in any of these programs who identify as first generation/low income are eligible to apply to attend a final one-week residential program called THRIVE that takes place in early September, before other first year students arrive. a) prior to the end of the school term prior to the October holidays if they were registered for Free School Meals on 23 September. The aim of thissummer bridging work is to help you make the transition from GCSE to A level study as smooth as possible. There are a series of tasks listedbelow which we encourage you complete based on your subject options.

The success of our outcomes are the students I see every day, as well as the many who have left us for apprenticeships in local firms, stayed on in our 6th Form or have gone on to Universities right across Britain from studying English at Oxford, Veterinary in London to Chemistry at Edinburgh. Eligibility for Free School Meals has been identified as the means to identify those children/young people from low income households – only those of school age [P1 – S6 education] who receive Free School Meals on the basis of low income or on local authority discretion are eligible. Welcome! We're excited to offer both virtual and in-person programs to support you during this important transition from high school to Stanford! There are a variety of opportunities, including online courses and community based programs. If you have not registered for Free School Meals and believe you would be eligible you can find out more and apply at: School meals - mygov.scot And, for us, learning is everything. We focus on the things that matter – commitment to the highest academic standards, positive relationships based on mutual respect, care, concern and generosity for others and a willingness to do things differently – that ability to adapt to the ever-changing world around us. Our students need to be ready to compete nationally and internationally!

b) by the end of the second week in January if the request to register for Free School Meals was made after 30 November a) prior to the start of the winter holidays if they were registered for Free School Meals on 30 November. The relevant eligibility criteria for Free School Meals on the basis of low income in section 53 of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 applies to:

pupils for whom an education authority has made special arrangements under section 14 of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 and, at the discretion of the education authority, are deemed to be in attendance at a public school. a) prior to the end of the school term prior to the summer holidays if they were registered for Free School Meals on 30 May.

You can apply online at mygov Scotland, the application should take around 10 to 20 minutes in total. Before applying, you'll need: A collaboration between these two programs, called LSPxSOAR, is an online program which follows the SOAR curriculum over five weeks in late June and July, and provides community building opportunities for first generation and/or low-income students. Students then come to campus for a one-week pre-orientation program from September 12-18th focused on community building and an introduction to Stanford resources. To help you make a successful transition from year 11 to post 16 study we ask that you complete bridging tasks for the subjects you want to study and also more general activities to ensure that you have the right set of study skills to ensure you get off to the best start. Learning is delivered through a broad and balanced curriculum. We ensure that all students have opportunities to study the performing and visual arts (Music, Drama, PE, Fine Art), technology (materials, products, computing, textiles, food) and humanities, as well as the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science.
