A very underwhelming addition to a first book that I wholeheartedly loved. Ah, well. I guess this just wasn't for me. I'm still considering whether to continue with this series. There just wasn't the depth, the complexity, the darkness, or the action that I loved so much in the first book. I really miss the character dynamics that felt so fresh but now feel shoved out of the main focus of the plot. Still, Six and Five's friendship has my heart.

Een technisch hoogstandje ga ik het niet noemen, maar dat komt ook gewoon omdat ik nog steeds vind dat de schrijfster geen echt opvallende schrijfstijl heeft - en daar moet je het als vertaler dan maar mee doen. Mostert heeft er volgens mij het beste uitgehaald, en bij de redactie hebben ze zo te zien ook geen enkele typfout laten staan. Mooi zo.

I absolutely loved Fireborn, so I was eagerly anticipating the second instalment, and I'm pleased to say it didn't disappoint at all! Aisling Fowler has created something super magical with this series, and I wholeheartedly would recommend this gorgeous series! My kids love it as much as I do.
