Select the ending point using the t/u button and press the RECORD button. Select Save and press the OK button to save the selected part. Select Reset and press the OK button to reset the edit. Warning: This function will overwrite the original recording. I wasn't aware that old humax's use ext3 - my 9200 certainly doesn't. But it doesn't matter - the box itself should offer the option to format the disk. Not sure on lights but basically, green light is on red is off and red light and green light at the same time means it's recording something. I think. OK, my Humax is still hopping and skipping so I thought I'd try a full format. I'm thinking of this adapter, is it OK? Also, do I simply remove, reformat and replace the drive, power up, reset to factory settings and go from there or do I somehow need to restore some software? E.g. where is the Loader stored? If on the disk, how do I restore it?

Does anyone have any similar experiences or thoughts on this before I start taking it apart looking for batteries?I'm suspecting an internal battery may have gone as this seems to fit the behaviour, but I'm surprised upcoming programs would be stored in memory and not on the drive? If I find a way to connect it up to a PC and do a full format (I only have a 'family' laptop myself and don't want to start messing with that), is there any particular type of format that's required? A minor point is the Series Link feature. You can only have this if you also have Accurate Recording switched on. If you decide to use Auto padding (ie start recording a few minutes early and continue past the end) then Series Link is turned off. I did open up the 9150 to see and couldn't find a battery. I suspect scheduling is all in non volatile ram as mentioned above, which makes fixing this pretty much a no go.

Does the Humax store its upcoming shows in flash memory, which is being lost when the power is turned off, or does it store them on the hard drive? Now my 9150T is working like a goodun can I just remove the 160gig hard drive and replace it with a 500gig sarta drive and just format it, at the moment the hard drive is empty it would be a great time to make it better Select a programme and press the YELLOW button to trim the recorded programme. You can trim the recorded programme using the following functions. Note: You can trim recorded TV (Video) channels only. Turbo boost your credit chances and get your free Experian credit report. Connectivity and installation

Thanks for the information. It was that one you linked to that I was looking at. Ideally I didn't want to spend too much, as the Humax is quite old anyway, but we prefer to it catch up TV.
