so there you have it. how am i supposed to positively rate a book that i really quite enjoyed but dont want to be too generous because there is one major flaw that my conscience wont allow me to overlook? its so much better than 3 stars (its at least a 4), but i personally feel way too guilty with giving anything over that. ughhh. A psychological suspense novel of obsession and dangerous love. The definitive edition of Too Late from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Verity . You’re one of the strongest people I’ve ever met,” I whisper. “You are everything Asa doesn’t deserve. And everything I want.” But even her past and her present view of the world aren’t what caused me to be so surprised. Instead it was Hoover’s graphic descriptions and imagery of the violence itself. For anyone interested in reading this book, please be aware of the physical and domestic violence triggers that this book might instill for you. There are vivid descriptions of scenes that I can only describe as rape, even if our protagonist won’t describe it as such herself.

Asa goes upstairs to retrieve Sloan, but as she is trying to escape the “agent” in charge of her, the “agent” kisses her to try and subdue her. Upon seeing this, Asa shoots the “agent” dead. She was in dire straits trying to pay for her brother's care until she met Asa. But as Sloan became emotionally and economically reliant on him, he in turn developed a disturbing obsession with her - one that becomes increasingly dangerous every day. Luke is slightly disappointed that the work he and Dawson have done is for nothing, and the FBI seems to have busted Asa before their investigation concluded.Too Late: A Novel” is one the best and most entertaining novels with a very unique and impressive story. Colleen Hoover is the author of this fantastic novel. Colleen is the author of many beautiful novels. Her most famous novels are Slammed, It Ends with Us, Verity, Ugly Love, November 9, Finding Cinderella, This Girl, Point of Retreat, Losing Hope and many fantastic novels. This novel is also a wise, deep, moving epic by an exceptional writer. The author brings her game A and gives us a mind-blowing story. These characters are unique and refreshing. There are fabulous stand-alone set pieces, engaging characters, glorious prose and a soul-stirring look into the various lives of human.

The title, Slammed, is a reference to poetry readings which are called “Slammings” at coffee houses and cafes where they are featured. In this story we meet Layken, an 18 year old forced into the new setting of small town Michigan after being raised in Texas. But, at the same time, he’s introduced to the audience as an undercover DEA agent who, along with his partner Dawson, is on a mission to end Asa’s antics once and for all.)There's no way I can keep this up. Asa never goes to class on a regular basis, yet he always passes with near perfect grades. I'm struggling to keep my head above water, and I didn't miss a single day last semester. Well, in physical form, anyway. Unfortunately we live with so many other people, there's never a quiet moment in the house. I catch myself falling asleep in class more often than not; it's the only time I get peace and quiet. The parties seem to go on all hours of the day and night, regardless of who has class the next day. Weekends have no bearings over weekdays in our house, and rent has no bearing over who lives here. I wish my mother wasn’t a whore. I wish she would stop lying, so she wouldn’t get in trouble so much. I don’t like watching her get in trouble. Feelings of guilt and remorse have plagued the young Dean, and he searches for a sense of peace in his dilemma with Sky. When they finally reconnect, a greater pain embraced the young man. For the second installment in the series, readers learn more about Holder’s youth, and his search for redemption in the act of saving another. Connecting with Colleen Hoover Sloan lives with Asa in his house which is a revolving door of sex, drugs, and debauchery. She never has a quiet moment to herself and finds it difficult to concentrate or study — especially when she’s awoken by Asa having sex with her while she is half asleep in the wee hours of the morning.

heres a discussion question for you all: at what point are you allowed to negatively rate a work of fiction because there are certain aspects you morally disagree with? additionally, at what point are you allowed to overlook those personal objections because the overall concept/idea of the story is just so dang interesting? this is the dilemma i am currently facing. Luke sends Sloan up to bed with Asa against his better judgment, but he knows he has no other choice without blowing his cover to the rest of the people in the house. It was, but mostly, Too Late was a melodramatic get-together of underdeveloped characters and a ridiculous plot line. Asa uses medication to increase and decrease ankle swelling, enabling him to remove his ankle bracelet and put it on Anthony, the only friend he has working for him, and heads to Sloan and Luke’s apartment.I mean for real. She just had a book released yesterday that stated the same thing and from what I’ve heard so far it’s the same angsty instalovey bullcrap with some kind of rip-your-heart-out (assuming that you, unlike me, actually have a heart) plot twist (and YASSSSS of course I’ll still read the damn thing). Too Late is uniquely both an old and new book of Hoover’s. Let me explain: Too Late“has been self-published in several formats over the past 10 years. But it has now been edited and revised and this is the definitive mainstream version – much-sought-after among her completist fans.” ( Source)

She has an abusive boyfriend, Asa, and she stays with him since he pays the bills for her brother's care. He treats her poorly, he is violent and shows little redeeming qualities.Like I said, I MOTHERF*& Luke, concerned for Sloan who is upstairs being detained, tells the agents who handcuffed him that he is a cop and blows his cover. He feels that the sooner he makes them aware that there is no need to arrest him, the sooner he can get to Sloan. As all good writers realize, she writes what she knows – family, friendship, change, and especially love. Her plots and characters have immense appeal among young women readers, and she sets her characters in modern day situations of friendship, new relationships, first love, and heartbreak. Slammed A psychological suspense novel of obsession and dangerous love. The definitive edition of Too Late from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Verity. The two are drawn to each other, even when they try to resist, and as secrets are revealed, their bond is intensified. Change in both of them is paramount and both characters hope to heal their emotional scars and live with less boundaries in their young lives. In the companion book Losing Hope, Colleen take the story further, but this time from the perspective of Dean, the troubled youth with secrets to reveal.
