Remember that, all else being equal, more fans equals better cooling, but more noise. The coolers that do the best job of moving warm air away from your CPU and out of your case are also often the loudest. If fan noise is an issue for you, you’ll want a cooler that does a good job of balancing noise and cooling. If you can set your cooler's fan speeds based on temperatures in your motherboard's BIOS, that should also help. All of the mounting plates are constructed from solid metal. Only the washers are made from plastic. If you’re not sure if you want to go the air cooling route (a big metal heatsink with fans) or opt for a liquid-cooled AIO (a pump attached to a radiator and fans), there are a few things to consider. Large air coolers tend to take up more internal space in your PC case, or at the very least they need more vertical clearance off your best motherboard, which can limit your case options. Air coolers can also be louder and less efficient than liquid coolers at moving heat away from your CPUand out of the chassis. These days, though, that’s not cut and dry. If you can go the extreme route, there are fanless air cooling options like Noctua's Colossal NH-P1 as well for the ultimate truly silent cooling option, although you'll still need case fans to move the warmed air out of your case. This air cooler is an unusual entry in our list—the only one not built by a familiar industry leader. The Alseye DR900 is the lowest-priced cooler in this group, but its features and value make it an enticing option if you're working on a budget build for which you want equal parts bling and cooling. The former flair comes in the form of three standard 90mm PWM fans with RGB LED lighting. The coolers recommended look descent I don’t mind having a beefy cooler on show as it reminds me of a old fashioned carburetor on top of a engine lol

Cooling high-power, high-end-desktop (HEDT) processors like Intel's Core X series or AMD's Ryzen Threadrippers with an air cooler is a formidable task. Typically, cooler manufacturers will increase the size of an air cooler to boost its performance and the overall amount of heat it can handle. But the finite amount of space and overhead clearance inside a PC case sets limits on how large an extreme air cooler can be. Given the larger die size and ample power consumption of today's HEDT processors, there simply isn't much room for HEDT air coolers to grow much bigger.Due to the use of copper, the heatsink is extremely heavy for the size at 640 g. While the weight is not surprising considering the material choice, it does have added benefits, of which one is a stiffer, stronger design. The fins themselves feel solid with very little flex, and as a result, I found none of them bent upon initial inspection. Other benefits of copper include the ability for it to absorb more heat than aluminium. However, while that is true, aluminium tends to absorb and dissipate heat faster. The outline of the Scythe Yasya heatsink can be seen easily. It looks like a Yasya tower put on its side and split into two halves which are hung on six 6mm heat pipes. Had a late night last night as I set up msi afterburner to show cpu temps in game as I’m curious seeing what cpu temps and gpu temps are doing. He was literally going through fans one by one to find, if it was some interaction between fans, or what in PC was causing that noise. The pressure is high and the steel fastening is absolutely reliable. The Mugen 2 should be oriented in such a way that its heat pipes ran across the CPU (as in the right photo).

Revolutionary Cooling Systems, Inc. was founded in October 1996 by Greg Loibl and George Sidebotham. Since then, the development of the beverage cooler has utilized many ambitious Cooper Union students. The students work on the project to earn credit towards their degree. They have made contributions in; 1) research, 2) engineering and design, 3) quality testing. The heat pipes are not vertical but slanting in the aluminum fins which must be the consequence of technological process rather than some new feature devised by Scythe engineers. An auxiliary aluminum heatsink (64×40 mm) is installed above the heat pipes. It serves as the support for the cooler’s fasteners.

makes me think do i really want to buy another cooler in this price range now as i would much rather spend a little more and buy a descent one as my plan is in maybe a year half is buy a 3700x cpu at a good price and just plop it in this build . Since it doesn't completely clear the memory area when it is slid to the left, very tall heat spreaders may cause issues in that slot nearest the CPU. As we found out, the Rasetsu is 4°C more effective when the heat pipes are oriented horizontally (the right photo) rather than otherwise (the left photo) although the convex CPU cap may have influenced the results. Anyway, we installed the cooler so that its heat pipes were horizontal for our tests.

Normal coolers sandwich/solder heatpipes between base plates, but direct touch (cost cutting measure) might just have them pressed into grooves in bottom of the base and even with solder are certainly less firmly attached: Amazing that you can just hold 1 of these copper cooler pipes in your hand and with your own body heat it will cut through ice! You'll most likely want to mount it outside of your chassis, however, especially with a cramped mini-ITX build. The AXP-100 Full Copper arrives in a small box. On it you can see except that the Thermalright logo and the name of Retro Collection.

When to Use

While the box may be a bit small, Thermalright did go above and beyond most manufacturers by putting soft foam on all four sides of the cooler. It certainly is nice to see the Thermalright AXP-100 Full Copper so well protected. Not only does Corsair's iCUE H100i Elite Capellix cooler have an enticing aesthetic design, it also has one of the lowest-rated noise production levels that we've seen on a CPU water cooler. To be fair, the cooler can get a bit loud when the fans and pump are operating at full speed—when everything's revved up, Corsair says, the noise can climb to 37dBA. At ideal temperatures, however, the Elite Capellix is rated for as little as 10dBA, which is practically inaudible assuming the number holds in your specific build. Because the beverage is rotated, not shaken. It is not simple to explain, as it involves scientific concepts such as solubility, Henry’s law and nucleation, among others.

It's amazing how high wattage can support so small cooler. That said, before going any further, let's take a closer look at the specifications before torturing this tiny cooler on the test bench. base plate and that big gap and it wobbles a lot when you stand it up is not good, but is this how coolers are??
