Description

ASQ celebrates the unique perspectives of our community of members, staff and those served by our society. Reflecting allows you to understand how you have helped others to achieve and what this looks like in a practical learning environment. The Benefits of PDCA ( Quality Progress) The brief history of PDCA and an example of PDCA in action help establish the use of this cycle for continuous process improvement. They should do this through making links between what they have done, what they already know and what they need to learn. Regardless of whether or not you are audited, I hope you can all set aside some time to reflect on what you have done, how much you have learnt and think about how it could be done even better in the future.

I am proud to say that the RTPI has been very supportive of its staff and its Members during the last two years, acting with an abundance of caution, but maintaining the status of the profession, converting to an online then a hybrid way of working to keep the show on the road. These changes can be as simple as varying a small activity or as adventurous as changing your whole approach or plan. Teachers develop individual goals to improve their instruction where the "analyze" step showed any gaps. While most of the core principles are similar to Kolb’s, Gibbs' model is broken down further to encourage the teacher to reflect on their own thoughts and feelings. Being reflective will also make sure you have a wider range of skills as you find new ways to teach. One of the requirements of RTPI Membership is that everyone follows the Code of Conduct and carries out regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD). When you become more aware of your students’ preferences and strengths, learning becomes more tailored to their needs and so they are more curious and are equipped to explore more deeply. All of these attributes are business as usual for the typical planning professional and indeed, are articulated in the RTPI Ethics and Professional Standards.

The important part is that it works - if it doesn't then you may need to move on and try something else. You will reteach and reassess the lessons you have taught, and this will allow students the chance to gain new skills and strengthen learning. You may find that as time goes on and you develop as a reflective practitioner that you try different methods which suit your current circumstances. Some practical examples include coloured pens, larger paper, handouts, cut-up activities, specialised equipment. She shares daily lifestyle content online around family life, fashion, self-love, house renovations and much more. Reflection-in-action is reflection during the ‘doing’ stage (that is, reflecting on the incident while it can still benefit the learning). Reflection-on-action means you reflect after the event on how your knowledge of previous teaching may have directed you to the experience you had.

Formal and informal assessments take place continually, from daily teacher assessments to six-week progress reports to annual standardized tests. Throughout the unit, we will encourage you to think about how you can include reflective practice in your own classroom practice. Being observed by colleagues will allow you to gain others’ perspectives into your practice and provide feedback and ideas on how to improve. By following any of the above models of reflection, you will have a questioning approach to teaching. If the last two years have taught us anything, it is that we all need to be resilient, adaptable to change, highly informed and able to make sound, ethical judgements.

Teaching staff also plans curricula by looking at what is taught at earlier and later grade levels and in other disciplines to ensure a clear continuity of instruction throughout the student’s schooling. All of these models stress the importance of repeating the cycle to make sure knowledge is secure and progression is continued. Although they can be a great way to start thinking about reflection, remember that all models have their downsides. From reflection, you should encourage your students to take new challenges in learning, developing a secure and confident knowledge base. This model is similar to one used by small children when learning basic concepts such as hot and cold.
