I didn’t think it could be as good as the first in the series, but it somehow lived up to my high expectations. There’s also a smattering of pretty negative commentary about women (“they’re catty bitches, most women are mean to each other and that’s why Mia doesn’t have women friends”) a weird comment about “skinny shaming” and after what felt like (to me, I could be wrong) a shallow dive into Garret’s depression, the reader is informed that Garret is ready to have a baby w/ Mia bc he’s been on antidepressants x therapy for a year, and also spent that year proving “that he had everything under control” which feels like not a great metric to measure mental health?

Seeing the way people express themselves during sex, the way they move, the way they sound, the way they come. Well, we’ve only been open for three months, but we did have a party of five rent the biggest voyeur room a couple weeks ago. First of all, his inability to connect to any women is honestly something that should be talked about more.the hero is a shitty partner until about 92% of the book, and his “big grovel” to make up for his punk ass behavior is *checks notes* public sex with anal play👀 like?

I 100% relate to Mia and everything she is, seriously I have not related to character this deeply in so long. I loved the taboo relationship we see, the sexual tension and the slow builds to firecracker climaxes.I felt an instant connection to Emerson and I never felt anything towards Garrett throughout the first book in the series - objective, of course. I appreciated the representation of a hero with depression, though I would have like to see it discussed earlier and more throughout the book and not just at the last 80% of it. It’s seriously, one of the most debilitating chronic illnesses, not just in mental health but in the entire gamut.

Quite icky 🥴 And is it just me or did the parents not riot more than they should have when they found out lmao? Like, these are not things someone says about a partner whose work and autonomy they respect👀 especially if he owns a fucking sex club! He would not have been on antidepressants if he had bpd, he’s be on lithium because antidepressants do not work on BPD.It was amazing to see him learn to let people in, display his vulnerability and show his true emotions. He loves to watch and now he’s hooked and see if it’s just a faze or he really has some type of feelings for her. It repeats Praise’s issue of “ooh look your boyfriend is being distant, just use a queer woman to make him jealous! the sexual tension is high between the two so is the banter and her keeping her job s secret, add ice and a douche who outs you and mix a step brother who now doesn’t wanna do stuff because your a virgin. Even some of the things Mia says about sex/sex work run the gamut from bizarre to distasteful— she makes several comments about watching people have sex being weird and uncomfortable, but that’s ~literally~ what she gets paid to do🤦🏼‍♀️ and when discussing another cam girl, she describes her as “plastic,” not genuine, and an unskilled performer who relies on her body.

Also Garret’s mental illness, for the most part was dealt with and portrayed well up until it was fully revealed. Garrett has always been a voyeur so it comes as no surprise that when he’s feeling a little lonely and sunk a few beers he decides to download a camgirl app, intending to watch. Illicit, kinky love blossoms between stepsiblings in Cate’s taboo but sizzling second Salacious Players Club romance (after Praise).Best known for the Salacious Players’ Club series, Sara strives to take risks and provide her readers with an experience that is as arousing as it is empowering. Sara Cate is a USA Today bestselling romance author who weaves complex characters, heart-wrenching stories, and forbidden romance into every page of her spicy novels. Likewise, seeing the vulnerability and growth of both Garrett and Mia made Eyes On Me so much more than a steamy read! If you love a good enemies to lovers, age gap, forbidden romance with an element of taboo, look no further! This one was super good I loved every second of this couple even the times when I wanted to smack Garrett few times.
