David Almond introduces his new picture book, A Way to the Stars, a story about perseverance and finding a way to make dreams come true.

First of all, I had a very hard time taking this book seriously. Every time these words showed up, I thought of the following things: Her Father left her with nothing but these parting words: You're not cut out for this life. Those words continue to haunt her. In the end, if there was one thing this book had to say, it’d be that people are a whole being onto themselves, out of our control no matter what we do, and to care is to hand over your control, hand over reins with power over you, to those you care for and to all who would use them against you. And in this world, that is something to fear. For West or Saint, people carved from stone with an iron grip, that is the ultimate fear. This reminded me a lot of Daughter of the Pirate King. There's actually more than a few similarities, although I do feel this story feels a bit more mature than that one. I do think if you enjoyed that book, you'll enjoy this one as well.Fablehouse is a children's home like no other. Heather and her friends who live here have magic at their fingertips. The children have a powerful friend in Pal, an Arthurian knight who teaches them to harness the powers they find within themselves. But not everyone the children meet is on their side. This story continues to be an angst filled Rollercoaster ride gone rogue. Heartache on a loop that keeps playing over and over again. And we readers don't wanna get off in any case. I liked the crew of Marigold consisted of a group of young and lost teens, orphans , outcasts and Fable is strong, lovable heroine! Unforgettable … powerful and extraordinary … Absolutely magical' Zillah Bethell, author of The Shark Caller But when the table gets turn and the victim again turns into the monster...who is to blame for the choice?

She should be running for the hills and I didn't understand why she didn't run. Each time she decided to stay was more frustrating than the previous one. And I kept having hope her logic will suddenly appear, but nope. She was still an idiot. Explaining how her own life experience growing up has shaped this story, she said: “My mum is white and Jewish and I don’t know my dad, I’ve never known my dad. Norry, who as well as being an author also has a BA (Hons) in Film and an MA in Screenwriting, grew up in the care system in Cardiff, but now lives and works in Bournemouth with her husband and family.

Exciting, important and endlessly entertaining ... this is going to be huge' - Maz Evans, author of Who Let the Gods Out Four years ago, 17-year old, Fable, was abandoned by her Father on Jeval, a notorious island full of thieves. I cannot wait for some time and space to dream. I’m looking forward to going to galleries and exhibitions and being inspired and coming up with original ideas for my next children’s book. I’d like to adapt some of my short stories into short films or see if they might work on stage. I’d like to keep learning and growing. Heather, Pal and friends set off to rescue children who have been taken to this threatening underworld. No child will be forgotten on their watch. Heather and friends realise they have been specially chosen for this quest. They must use the talents they've been given in the battle to save Fablehouse and all the children who have found shelter there.
