Description

I believe that this book doesn't just focus on dealing with procrastination issues that we face each day, but it tells much more than that. The author explores the psychological and practical aspects of procrastination, providing readers with strategies for combating this self-sabotaging behavior. Not everything in this book was new to me - but that‘s also kinda good, because we forget stuff we once knew so easily so it‘s always good to repeat it.

The issue is that I’ve been reading a lot of books on specific topics, so based on what I read and learned, some books may not seem that great to me. Focus on What Matters is a collection of 70 letters/essays I wrote about different aspects of life, from happiness, wealth, health to relationships and much more. The book starts with a quote form Abraham Lincoln, "You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today".Consider this his personal experience and knowledge rundown from several amazing books that he has read over the years. Also providing a list of his priorities made me more sure of things I do like reading and paying my bills TODAY, not tomorrow. The main motto that the author wants to convey to readers is: time is limited, that’s why we must do the things we want - today. I'm in no way saying his books aren't good, however, there are several contradictory statements he makes himself, which he has later clarified in his postscript that he does.

Key takeaways on productivity include finding the sweet spot between perfectionism and slacking, how to read 100 books a year, how to eliminate distractions, and the importance of taking time out to read, rest, and reflect. Consistency, satisfaction, working on procrastination, and not worrying about the things which we can't control and just focussing on what we can actually control are some pragmatic issues that one encounters while reading this book.

You could’ve done a million other things with your time, yet you decided to pick up this book about improving your productivity. He quotes Wallace D Wattles to drive home an unconventional point: "You get rid of the thought of competition.

For the past few days, I spent several hours to re-read the book after all this time to see whether it needed updating. where the author has shared different facts about procastination behaviour and gives us tips that if tried to implement in our life can help us break our habit of procastination.

They can lace open the gate, button and unbutton a flower, and even slip a photo into the small square pocket! If you know about the author and have been following his articles, then this book would feel so repetitive. In this updated and expanded version of The Road To Better Habits, you’ll learn how to transform your habits in a SIMPLE way. This book acted as a reminder to me on majority self help aspects which I was somehow or the other aware of but are not in my practical implementation.
