It focuses on other-worldly Christianity rather than encouraging faithful living in the here and now, along with responsibility to one's neighbors and place of residence.

As a lifelong fan of Bunyan's original work, I was so eager to get my hands on this adaptation for kids. It preserves the original plotlines of Bunyan's classic while telling the story of Little Christian and Christiana in a way that kids can understand. Joe Sutphin's marvelous, lavish illustrations go a long way to making the allegory more accessible to young readers.and the sun shone brightly on the Cross, and he knew that he must be awake and that the King had really taken the weight from his shoulders forever. Our older kids (aged 7 and 5) both glued in from the beginning to end, imagining the world that Bunyan originally created with the same names, places and content as the adapted version published in 1947. However, she knew that it would not be very long before they followed her, and when she remembered this, it comforted her. The meticulous craftsmanship extends to its pages, adorned with intricate illustrations and meticulously sewn binding. What I love about Lithos Kids is their unwavering commitment to producing literary gems that are not just enjoyable but timeless family heirlooms.

It is incredibly moving and I looked forward to reading it every night (sometimes, I think, more than the kids). If you want your kids to take proper biblical values from this book, you have to do a lot of paraphrasing. On top of the very readable text and the beautiful illustrations, the summary and the questions at the end of each chapter, make this resource (along with the previous two volumes), useful for family devotions, classrooms, as well as individual use. This book will help children see the trials and triumphs of faithfulness with fresh eyes, leading them to declare along with Christian, I am going to the King!

While Pilgrim's Progress does not have a special place in my heart, this edition of Little Pilgrim's Progress has helped me find some ways to appreciate the story again, and for that I am grateful. Encouraging things like bravery and holiness are important, but most important is developing a personal relationship with the Triune God, which is simply not Bunyan's point here.

As with the real Pilgrim's Progress, the first part is better but there are some wonderful highlights in the second half and we do come to love Mercy, Great Heart, and the boys in Part 2. Taylor took John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress and simplified the vocabulary and concepts for young readers, while keeping the storyline intact.The characters are animals and it makes the story all the more enchanting and endearing to read through with kids, while bringing me to tears many times throughout.
