Description

I bought a used version a whole 7 years after it was published for a total of 28 pounds which is a bargain considered this book sells for more than 70 in some instances. It was first published on October 26, 2006 in the United Kingdom and later on November 2, 2006 in the United States. A community-maintained environment where you can find or share information about everything regarding the virtual band Gorillaz.

While they could have gone and made a quick small book with existing artwork, they laboured in creating a genesis of a band showcasing every little minute detail in their lives to the present. It has the back stories of all the members and how they came together, and glimpses of the possible future of the band. At the front of the book, there is a ‘Demon Disclaimer’ stating the information is not all true, ‘especially the stuff Murdoc says’.Signed by Cass and Hewel, with the original fake library pouch~~VG+/VG 1st ed 2006 hardback, unclipped DJ.

However, the audiobook remains incomplete, as only the first few chapters of the book were ever narrated. Initially iTunes exclusive, one part was released every week for four weeks beginning December 5th 2006. The book blends fact and fiction throughout, interspersing commentary from the band members with actual quotes from their creators, collaborators and critics. But remember you love Kermit the Frog and Gonzo for them, not because it's Jim Henson and Frank Oz moving them. But it's easy to see the underlying notes throughout the book give little hints and glimpses of the real story, with the real people that brought it together, but it's so subtle you'll kindly smile because they did this so well it doesn't interrupt the pacing of the book at all. The back cover of the book features Jamie's interpretation of what all of the band would look like combined. Featuring brand new art from and designed by Jamie Hewlett, this is the full story of Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel Hobbs for the first time. Get the accompanying DVD Slowboat to Hades and the new vinyl figures from Kid Robot out now as well if you're a die hard fan like meself! Pages can include limited notes and highlighting, and the copy can include From the library of labels or previous owner inscriptions. My only wish is that they would release the book with added info, since Plastic Beach came out afterwards. Bits like this help you enjoy this book twice as much as if you would only see it as one or the other. The original idea for the book was to be a compilation of all press interviews with Gorillaz from phases one and two. An audiobook of Rise of the Ogre was released in four parts; making it the first audiobook in the world to be released in a singles format.

The book details the life-stories of the band-members: Murdoc Niccals, 2-D, Russel Hobbs, and Noodle. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Initially an iTunes exclusive, one part was released every week for four weeks beginning 4 December 2006. Even if you haven't paid much attention to Gorillaz (or if you have no idea what, exactly, they are), I still strongly recommend getting this book.Very well-preserved, light wear to jacket edges and corners a little bumped due to storage otherwise VG bright and unmarked. It'll be packed full of great shots from the sets of our videos, gigs, rehearsals, interviews…you name it.
