Je poháněna obnovitelnou energií, kterou čerpá z vylisovaných zbytků cukrové třtiny. Inspirací rumů, na které dohlíží master blenderka Gabriela Ayala, je mayský odkaz místa, odkud pocházejí. Named after Xaman, Mayan God of the North Star, the protector of Cihuatán valley. Xaman was believed to rest on sacred Ceiba trees, the Mayan tree of life. Cihuatan Rum is more than just a spirit; it is a cultural ambassador for El Salvador. The brand takes pride in its Mayan heritage, with each bottle reflecting a story from the country's rich history. This approach has not only brought attention to El Salvador as a rum-producing nation but also to its history and folklore. Cihuatán Sahumerio is the distillery’s 2020 limited edition rum crafted as a celebration of love. A “Sahumerio” is an incense burner, in which the Mayan would burn treats for Chantico, the Mayan Goddess of love.

Cihuatan Nikté: This limited-edition rum is a celebration of the Mayan festival of flowers. Aged in bourbon barrels, it boasts floral notes along with hints of vanilla and tropical fruits. The rum-making process at Cihuatan is a testament to both tradition and innovation. The sugarcane used is grown in fields owned by the distillery, ensuring control over the quality of the primary ingredient. After harvesting, the sugarcane is processed to extract the juice, which is then fermented. The fermented juice, or "wash," is distilled in modern column stills, producing a clean and robust spirit. After ageing, the rums are artfully blended. The master blender at Cihuatan skillfully combines rums of various ages to create distinct expressions, each with its unique characteristics.

What is the price trend for this rum?

Initially matured for 15 years in former bourbon barrels, Xaman XO is then finished for one year in specially created Mayan Ceiba barrels.
