So, as a parent, how do you go about asking your spouse to do something like this. Like how does that conversation go. Her relationship with Jason...her older boyfriend...is complicated. Her work is complicated and just gets even more complicated throughout this book. No Child of Mine is a slow burn novel that unfortunately missed the mark for me. I went into this book thinking it would be horror and creepy, but it felt more like an old wives tale was a hint of thriller. There are a couple of good points anyway. I think one of the good points of this movie is that shows you a little and let your mind figure out the rest. And sometimes imagination is even more disturbing than the thing itself. The other good point is Brooke's performance. Better than some Hollywood kids of today. She was very convincing.

The story is not fictitious. “Kerry”, now at university, wrote to the film-maker when he was researching the subject of child abuse, asking for nothing more than anonymity and the chance to prevent other children from suffering as she had. I surprised even myself with the high rating I gave "No Child of Mine" , but the way it managed to get under my skin was no less surprising to me. It's definitely a book that if you give it a chance, you can't go wrong. Just do not expect action in it, let the emotions lead you. The British have provided us with lurid films like Threads or Ghostwatch and No Child of Mine has been no exception. A story that everyone should take seriously as it is. It has a rough tone that will make you see films like Cannibal Holocaust or August Underground's saga look unnecessary and childish. Think in this for one second: as long as it takes to write this review and you read it, a child is being sexually abused, this will give you an idea of how much…The narrators were really brilliant! It was very easy to listen to them, even at x3 speed. I enjoyed the voices and had no problem keeping up. I was hooked right away. Very well done! 5⭐️ for the narration. The repetitive phrases that Sanjay, our MC's husband, said during the book was killing me by the end. The "Are you okay" thing... Was this supposed to be there to make it seem that he was in a fugue state or was it just his catch phrase? Because I felt that I was reading the same conversation between Essie and Sanjay several times.

It's best not to watch this piece of trash, but for masochists and fans of misinformation one can do much worse. No, actually not... Worse? Not really. The only "good" characters encountered so far are white, middle class and live in big houses.....yawn!

This was a beautiful book...in spite of the subject matter. I could not stop reading it. It is a story of families...sad ones who are lost and broken and without any hope at all until sometimes just a teeny bit of hope is able to work its way through by loving caregivers or even the kindness of strangers. This is one of the most difficult books, I have ever read, it is heartbroken. I loved the main character, Alex Lake. She is a social worker, works with Child Protection, she is a hard worker and she will do everything to protect the children in her caseload. Essie is in a very loving marriage with her husband, Sanjay, whom she adores, but in spite of that, Essie is less than stoked about the news.
