I would recommend this book to children ages six and up since the crude humor might be a bit off-putting for some children. The vet sticks his cold instruments up you-know-sunny places and then just says he can't eat anything good anymore. In 2008, it was reported that plans were under way to develop the series as a movie project for the Jonas Brothers. I mostly sell the book to lawyers and accountants, small boys get the English version with the attached whoopee cushion!

Farts are the natural result of the surprising amount of air that is swallowed just with the simple act of eating. The pictures are wonderful, although they are printed flat on the page, they look multidimensional, and it's great fun to notice all the details. So, if you're like me and you have young boys that have that quirky sense of humor, they would probably enjoy this series. This hilarious tale for children ages 4-8 (and adults who aren't afraid to laugh) features surreal illustrations by Audrey Colman and an absurdly comical storyline. However, Trouble at the Yard Sale features such a cast of completely unsympathetic characters that I find nothing redeeming to say about this book.The illustrations are quirky and funny and fit the text, and the book has an affirmative message (even dogs that fart incessantly can be useful and loved! Later on, a funny looking man comes to Father’s table, asking if Walter is for sale and Father is happy to sell Walter to the strange man. As fiber is broken down here, hydrogen sulfide is produced, which is the cause of the really stinky gases. The clown ends up being a bank robber who lies to Walter saying he is blowing up balloons for a good cause - children - but is really planning a bank heist. This may be helpful at reducing our dog’s gas discomfort, but not the stench or whatever is causing it.
