Description

Released in January 1977 as a double-LP as Grunt CYL2-1255, it is a compilation of Jefferson Airplane and Airplane-related tracks, including tracks by Jefferson Starship and Hot Tuna, as well as solo tracks by Paul Kantner, Grace Slick, and Jorma Kaukonen. The mighty, crushingly deep, sweeping "Sketches of China", acknowledged by some as their greatest post-sixties achievement.

The Jefferson Starship song "Please Come Back" was previously unreleased, and remains unavailable on any other official Airplane-related release. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). Milk Train" and "Keep on Truckin'" are just nice rootsy rockin' acoustic folk/blues, maybe compatible with the vibes the Dead were putting out round those times. Although primarily a compilation album, the album includes one previously unreleased song: "Please Come Back" written by Ron Nagle and performed by Jefferson Starship. Related Artists - Craig Chaquico, David Freiberg, Grace Slick, Jefferson Starship, KBC, Marty Balin, Mickey Thomas, Papa John Creach, Paul Kantner, Pete Sears, Peter Kaukonen, Starship, The Great Society.

Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. Please consider supporting us by giving monthly PayPal donations and help keep PA fast-loading and ad-free forever.

A compilation of tracks by Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Airplane side projects, from 1966-1976. It also contained a detailed history of the band, written by Patrick Snyder of Rolling Stone magazine. Vote up content that is on-topic, within the rules/guidelines, and will likely stay relevant long-term. Have You Seen the Stars Tonight" a dreamy number, compatible with say the last two tracks of Marrying Maiden, hippie ambience. The release features an exact reproduction of the Grunt 1977 edition of the LP packaging including a reduced scale reproduction of the original booklet and inner sleeve jackets for the CDs. However, it sounds as if the master tapes had been damaged on at least three songs, and significantly obvious on the introduction of "Silver Spoon". Verdict: if you get all five classic sixties studio albums and all the tracks mentioned above, you'll have an unbeatably respectable Airplane collection. Ten years of Jefferson Airplane and various offshoots, this is a well-chosen compilation highlighted by "Come Up the Years", "Won't You Try Saturday Afternoon", "Hesitation Blues", "Pretty as You Feel" and "Sketches of China".

Rounding off well with the slick rocker, "Ride the Tiger", a hint of their future direction as the more commercial Starship. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. It also retains much of the original vinyl packaging (which was lavish in the extreme) and adds some new sleeve notes from the excellent John Tobler. Unfortunately this has not been released on CD, so you'll have to locate a copy of the original vinyl. Sooner or later, somebody's bound to lead you/ sooner or later you're bound to go/ that man got a smile on his face.Irrespective of the source, all of our collectables meet our strict grading and are 100% guaranteed. Flight Log was first reissued on CD by BMG Japan on October 22, 2008, as a part of the "Paper Sleeve Collection" reissue series (BVCM-35468-9).
