Description

Well, Cordoba decided to go for Indian rosewood for these two guitars as they are entry-level guitars. Indian rosewood works as well as its South American brother. The only difference is that the Brazilian rosewood is a lot more exotic, therefore, a lot more expensive. Of course, we’ve got a solid cedar top, which is also lovely. When it comes to classical guitars (even if you’re a beginner), a solid top isn’t something you should pass up on. Solid wood’s response will help you feel the music – as corny as that may sound! We found it hard to find a customer that completely detested the C7. It was mostly love even though, expectedly, there were a couple of complaints. If you need guitars made in the U.S, acoustic models like the M, D, F, and F twelve-string bodies are made in California, USA. However, as is the case on most classical guitar models, the nut width on this one is a bit wider than that of your average steel string. The 2″ nut width allows enough space between strings to fret notes accurately. However, if you have smaller hands, the increased width may make it harder to fret both notes and chords.

This is the reason we can easily recommend the C7 to even intermediate players. The guitars in this range are accommodating to growing skills. At Guitar Village we're committed to offering you the very best shopping experience possible. We strive to provide you with an unmatched choice of guitars as well as our award-winning friendly customer service, combined with the best prices in the UK. Occasionally the odd price pops up a little cheaper somewhere else. We don't want any of our customers to ever have to decide between our high level of service and a lower price, so we will always endeavour to price match our UK competitors.

Well, the Canadian cedar top is actually a very popular choice for Cordoba, more than the European Spruce top. While the European spruce top is the more traditional of the two, the cedar top began gaining increasing popularity since the mid-1960s. However, for there to even be a preference, it has to be agreed that there are slight differences in the sounds produced by the two tops. The cedar top produces a warmer, fuller, more mellow sound. Something that sounds a bit wholesome like you would hear in classical music or blues. However, the rosewood fretboard is comfortable to play and gives this instrument a classic look. Rosewood is also stronger than most woods marketed as alternatives, so the fretboard isn’t likely to undergo pitting and other issues.

Both these guitars are beginner guitars, really. However, we all know that even at the “beginner” level, there are people who know a few chords, and others who have never held a classical guitar before. Before selecting the Cordoba C5 classical guitar, you’ll probably want to make sure that it’s a guitar that sounds good to your ears. We think that, sonically, it’s a great guitar for the money. The highs are clear and articulate, and the low end is just warm enough. The sound from the cedar is also considerably calmer than that produced by the spruce top. The spruce top on the other hand, has a clearer sound. A sound that can be likened to the sharpness made by a bell. With the spruce top, rather than a full sound, it is distinct and each note is individual and clear.

Cordoba Iberia C5 Review: How Does It Rate?

Mahogany, on the other hand, also sounds great. However, it still doesn’t quite compare to Indian rosewood. Nonetheless, it’s a cost-effective and an easier option to work with. So, it’s the right fit for the C5. The Cordoba C3M is also an entry-level guitar. It’s probably slightly more entry-level than the Cordoba C5. Tone is more or less big and boxy with decent volume. But the responsive nature of the guitar is that of an entry level instrument. It's not to say it doesn't sound good. But playing loudly and softly, doesn't give much contrast in tones. It's an all or nothing sound, play loud and the box thumps out notes. Play soft and there is less volume. There is a small amount of sustain. The Cedar top does indeed give a warm mellow sound, and it sounds more "Spanish" if you will, with Aquila Nylgut strings. The supplied factory Savarez strings of the guitar were very much bright, loud and clear. As for accessories, the Cordoba C5 Acoustic comes with a tuner, an instructional DVD, and a polishing cloth. Well, we’re glad to tell you that Cordoba realized how important this part of the guitar is and gave both the C5 series and the C3m nice rosewood fretboards. In making this particular part of the guitar, luthiers are left with very few options in terms of quality.

The nut and saddle are made of bone, which is a traditional material that helps shape this guitar’s vintage sound. Bone has enough density to support sustain and resonance, and it isn’t likely to develop pitting or other issues from string pressure over time. The C3m also comes with as much learning guide and accessories as the Cordoba C5, making it great for beginners. It’s good for two reasons. One, comparing the Cordoba C7 vs C5, the C5 guitars are affordable, they are a low-risk investment. If you find that the classical guitar is not your thing, you can always just drop it without losing too much. Cordoba C7

Choosing a better angle before setting out to play is one good way of altering the sound of your classical guitar.

The first thing we noticed about the comments this guitar was getting was that people think it’s beautiful! A lot of customers love the quality of craftsmanship Cordoba put into making this guitar. In many ways, the Cordoba C5 is an excellent example of a traditional classical guitar. Its body style is the traditional Spanish classical shape. This rounded body resembles the concert-style body of some steel-string acoustics. And like most nylon-string guitars, this one does not have a cutaway. Finally, the guitar comes with a lot of accessories, including an instructional DVD which is great for beginners. One of the most popular series from Guild is their Dreadnaught series. The popularity is definitely not unmerited seeing that it offers some top-draw features. It has a commanding tune, beautiful design, and projection enhancing features. What is the difference between flamenco and classical guitars?
