To me this was more of a war romance/melodrama rather than just another run of the mill ‘historical romance’. It had a lot of layers to the story and the characters were more complex and interesting with a believable romance that will give readers the feels. I was incredibly impressed by this book, my only issue with it was the ending felt a smidge rushed but overall I was completely engrossed in the story and the historical period. I think Graham has really hit on a successful period and location that is all but absent from most bookshelves.
