Minato has some decent ideas here, though the kids' depravity is still a bit hard to credit (as are some of the details along the way). Her daughter didn't die in an accident. Her daughter was killed by two people in the class. And before she leaves, she has a lesson to teach...

My first Japanese novel and it totally raise my expectations for the others that I’ll read. Because yes I will be exploring more books from Japan. This is just really good. the only issue was the repetitive events and repetitive naaration which was okay at first but then I really started to get bored reading about them again and again. After calling off her engagement in the wake of a tragic revelation, Yuko Moriguchi had nothing to live for except her only child, four-year-old child, Manami. Now, following an accident on the grounds of the middle school where she teaches, Yuko has given up and tendered her resignation. Wall Street Journal selected Confessions as one of the 10 best mysteries of 2014. As she gave her lecture, she called the murderers person A and person B, knowing that everyone will figure who she was referring to.

Menudo comienzo. Kanae Minato ( 湊かなえ, Minato Kanae, born 1973) is a Japanese writer of crime fiction and thrillers. She is a member of the Mystery Writers of Japan and the Honkaku Mystery Writers Club of Japan. [1] [2] She is a 2015 recipient of the Alex Awards.

What a riveting opening and explosive ending! Pun appropriately intended. The whole first part (of six) is just so gripping to the point where I can easily see myself totally go pass my stop if I was listening on my commute. The middle parts are also really good but nothing beats that opening and ending chapters: intense, creepy and evil.

Yazar, 4 ana karakterin gözünden 6 bölüm halinde, her bölümde birinci bölümde anlatılan ana olayın üstüne ayrıntılar eklenerek bir nevi doğruluğunu ve ayrıntılarını öğrenmemizi sağlıyor. Many accept it as a truism that Japan is a country in which morality is situationally determined, and the stereotype does, of course, reflect one aspect of the culture; however, the degree to which Minato extends this logic in service of her story might leave the faint of heart breathless. Nevertheless, the narrative succeeds well in conveying the troubling shades of morality at play in the novel. Indeed, the only disappointment is the rather neatly rushed ending." - Erik R. Lofgren, World Literature Today Her daughter didn’t die in an accident. Her daughter was killed by two people in the class.
