Ultimately, I am settling on 3 stars because there are still some values that I agree with and will take away from this book (and hope other people will too), but not for some of the others, and certainly not with the author’s writing voice. Manson’s] book always just takes me back one or two steps and renews my perspective on situations because I’m a hyper focused individual when I get onto goals and tasks and things that I want to deliver. His books have sold around 20 million copies, been translated into more than 65 languages, and reached number one in more than a dozen countries.

And there’s an elderly lady screaming at the cashier, berating him for not accepting her 30-cent coupon. Resilience, happiness and freedom come from knowing what to care about--and most importantly, what not to care about. I have, and this book by Mark Manson made me feel like I was back in that pub, but with an even dodgier individual attempting to give me life lessons. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mindset that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.While money is nice, caring about what you do with your life is better, because true wealth is about experience. Although after a bout of depression last year (yea the "D" word get's thrown around alot these days), I myself was seeking out therapy. Most of us, most of the time, get sucked in by life’s mean trivialities, steamrolled by its unimportant dramas; we live and die by the sidenotes and distractions and vicissitudes that suck the fucks out of us like Sasha Grey in the middle of a gangbang. In his self-help book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, Mark Manson challenges the commonly-held belief that positive thinking is the key to happiness and success.

Real stuff that actually helps you come to terms with yourself and not inflating your ego, or doing some tantric yoga exercises to unlock your inner chi circles. i would recommend this for someone who needs a change in their life or someone who doesn’t know what they want to do with their life or even want to make changes! If I find a book is not working out the way I had hoped, I stay away from it, and will not invest any more time. Although slightly repetitive at times, this is a great look at our existence, marking what is important and what isn’t.The people who don’t give a fuck about adversity or failure or embarrassing themselves or shitting the bed a few times. When the basic premise of a bestseller is that you should stop comparing yourself to what you see on television, movies, and social media, and just be content to be the best version of yourself - and scads of people find this to be awe-inspiring? When we say, “Damn, watch out, Mark Manson just don’t give a fuck,” we don’t mean that Mark Manson doesn’t care about anything; on the contrary, what we mean is that Mark Manson doesn’t care about adversity in the face of his goals, he doesn’t care about pissing some people off to do what he feels is right or important or noble.
