Plus he was a terrible corpser, so we spent a lot of time trying not to laugh. His portrayal of [inventor] Nikola Tesla was a joy to behold. He said: “My God, my Serbian accent sounds like I’m in ’Allo ’Allo!” He was very self-deprecating, but he was such an awesome human being, a wonderful artist and very inspirational.

In Lord of the Rings, his survival evokes our struggle to cling to our better natures in the darkest and most urgent of times, a struggle we were in the process of failing as a nation embarking on the War on Terror.

I also cut out 4 ear pieces by eyeballing it. Sew two pieces together, right sides together, and repeat with the other side. Before stitching up your beanie you want to add your ears.
