Could be some internal cooking of the raw file, more balanced on the noise reduction than on pure details on the Fuji. The x70 was truly compact which featuring many of the feature of the x100v, but in a more svelte package and a bit less poseur.

I don't go into all the different settings I've tried, but I'm not really seeing what I think I should be seeing when I'm told that the V is much improved. However, it does have a new bokeh signature that fans of the prior X100 series cameras may have to get used to. If I need to take a strap or bag anyway, I may as well take the better performing camera and lenses. But without any video stabilization in either the lens or body, this is not a walkaround vlogging camera – which means you’ll need to use either a gimbal or a tripod to get footage that lets its quality shine.Silver-painted hot shoe cover may seem trivial, but adds a nice look and feel to this aluminum X100V.

At the same time right now you are complaining that it doesn't have dust sealing, the x100v have dust resistance with a lens cap, not dust sealing, you can also add dust resistance to the gr lens with the new nisi filter adapter without increasing the size too much. The fact that the noise is mainly luminance and no random spots of color helps the fact tremendously. That niche may be covered by something like one of the more compact Olympus M4/3 cameras which come with the 14/42 EZ pancake as standard. Fuji's cameras, and this X100V, have color palettes strongly optimized for skin tones and portraits. Processing the files with capture one resulted in much better outcomes (for details in landscapes), but still had the flaws with the colours and the samples show that this issues did really improve.

Auto Dynamic Range function only selects between 100% and 200%; to get 400% you have to set that manually in a menu. I mean, if you're happy with it, then there's not really anything here that'll make you rush out to get the later X100V. No more "Lens Modulation Optimizer" settings in the menu system; the Lens Modulation Optimizer is always active. We certainly felt comfortable taking it out in light rain without those accessories, though, and simply kept the included lens cap close to hand. In LR, it's better to use the "enhance details" function, or to use Iridient X transformer to create a linear DNG before editing.
