I am what can be described as an Empath, Indigo Adult, and clairvoyant. This isn’t the medium for me (no pun intended) to dive into what this entails (Google the terms, if interested); but I will say that it is both an exhausting but amazing way to live being that it causes one to view life on another level of existence. In my opinion, everyone has these skills to some degree but some tap into it more so than others. Tyler Henry, a young man in his early 20s, is more than a self-described Macaulay Culkin look alike with a hit E!- Entertainment television reality show… he is the real deal: a true, intuitive clairvoyant. Henry provides insight into his skills and profession with, “Between Two Worlds: Lessons from the Other Side”. If you are familiar with Tyler Henry's show, then you know what the majority of this book is about. It is always a little strange to read a memoir written by a 20 year old, as they have only a limited life experience. Tyler tells us about his early years and how he first discovered his psychic abilities. Getting a strong feeling when you first meet someone. He described an experience where he got a feeling that the person he just met would be someone significant and that he felt he was meant to play a role in this person’s life. It is noticeable from a writing standpoint, that a ghostwriter undoubtedly was used because there is no way a 20 year old speaks in this manner or can describe situations/philosophy in such a way. This does cause some inconsistencies in the text but this isn’t a bad thing and “Between Two Worlds” is still quite worthy.

Hey everyone – I wanted to create The Collective to allow me to connect with as many of you as possible. I will be able to interact Live with you all in so many new ways… from virtual group readings, to live interactive Q & A discussions, to private one-on-one reading giveaways!

Dead people are weird, aren’t they? They all used to be alive, so they know the terrestrial community would dearly love to hear just one more time from their deceased loved ones. Yet throughout history, dead people have made that difficult by choosing chintzy eccentrics to be their living spokespeople, operating in odd locations and formats: tents on the periphery of fairgrounds, live gigs in shabby coastal theatres and, more recently, cheaply made television shows that never quite make it to major channels. Apparently, one of the things to fear about the afterlife is that it gives you a taste for cheesy showmen. Expanding on this depth, “Between Two Worlds” is a truly moving reading experience. Even aside from my own Empath and clairvoyant lifestyle; Henry’s writing has an impact and is thought-provoking for both young and adult readers, truly reaching audiences on a very personal level. This is a type of book one “has” to read for emotional fulfillment. These things matter because, despite his unassuming air, Henry is unafraid to make hard promises. A gay man is reassured that his homophobic mother has repented in the next life, while a woman whose son died by drowning is told that he doesn’t blame the companions who failed to rescue him. Even the woman whose brother was murdered, who introduces herself as actively trying to solve a criminal case, does not seem to give Henry pause. How we should try to be more childlike if we want to develop our intuition – being open, receptive, nonjudgmental, removing bias, and allowing our imagination to soar. What happens in a standard Life After Death scene will, however, be familiar to anyone who has seen clairvoyants in action before. Conversations are dominated by inexact messages that have universal application – another inexplicable quirk of the talking dead.

When people die of a sudden illness, their loved ones often think medical attention came too slowly; people with a terminal condition often have a period where they feel something indefinable is wrong; people who die young are often remembered as having been unusually full of life; death and birth often seem to arrive together. Henry’s vague suggestions of these things are taken, by desperate participants, as evidence of a specific supernatural dialogue. On countless occasions, people who have come through tell me that putting their pride aside would have made their life substantially easier and less painful.” He gives a very refreshing view on the afterlife and many components that we all wonder about... a few of my favorites being reincarnation and your pets being able to communicate with you from the other side.As Tyler’s grandmother was terminally ill with cancer in April of 2006, he began having strong intuitive hunches that would later turn into a series of profound visions that proved to be true. After a series of life changing events (including a near death experience), Tyler’s passion, calling, and life purpose has been to bring clarity, closure, and evidence to those he is privileged to read. More than ever, people are coming forward and sharing their experiences with after-death communication. Through television and film, the question of whether life exists beyond death has captivated our popular culture—not because it’s a new question, but because people are opening their minds to new answers. When I first got the call that my television show, Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, had been green-lighted, I promised to make it my purpose to explore whatever answers came my way and to share them honestly with the world. That’s the mission I’m still on, and my own questions multiply by the day. With all the different opinions about mediumship and psychic phenomena in circulation, I aim to provide unique, easy-to-understand explanations, obtained through my firsthand experiences.

I’ve watched a few Tyler Henry shows. This was interesting and insightful. When it comes to mediums and near-death experiences, I tend to lean towards caution and skepticism. Yet regardless of what one’s beliefs are, his overall message is a wonderful one. I especially love his humility, kindness, and courtesy. Everyone has different beliefs, and whether or not the concept of a medium has any place in those beliefs, is something that is very individual. I personally believe that God gifts each person with natural talents, some of which are very prevalent. If we can seek to be more present, we will be inclined to be truer to who we are and what we’re feeling. When we can authentically be who we truly are, and be honest with ourselves and our feelings—not making decisions out of past hurt and future fears—then we are free.” The insight we gain upon death—how our actions affect others—is something we can and should strive to understand while we’re still here. The saying ‘We judge others by their actions, and ourselves by our intentions’ comes to mind. We don’t have to wait for a life review to judge others by their intentions, and perhaps even ourselves by our actions.”His memoir was a witty and relatable. Tyler genuinely wants to make a difference in people's lives that may be struggling after a friend or loved one has passed. It was really cool to hear about how each of his readings appears to be unique in nature. He is always discovering new signs and secrets. I understand that my ability is a gift and not something for which I can take any credit. I’m just a conduit for information to come through and reach those who are open to hearing it—something we all have a natural ability to do, to varying degrees. Practice breeds consistency, and the more we develop and trust in our gut feelings, the more significantly and accurately our intuition can help us. Even after doing countless readings, I still have to remind myself daily to “get out of my own way” and allow myself to be a clear vessel through which messages can flow. This young man wrote an extremely interesting book highlighting his early life when his powers began to manifest themselves, through a nearly fatal brain issue of his own while a teenager, and on through the present day where he is one of the most sought after, if not THE most sought after, genuine mediums.

When we live each day with kindness, compassion, and communicative love, there is no business left unfinished. There are no regrets or words we should have said, but didn't. There is no need for closure or forgiveness or apology of any kind.” The book is part autobiography mixed with his beliefs. For those who are unaware of who he is; Tyler is a self proclaimed medium with his own show. Speaking of his show- I am disappointed in it because I've only seen him give readings to celebrities. I guess it's about marketing. Perhaps "ordinary" people receiving readings wouldn't be lucrative for the show. Jezebel writer Bobby Finger expanded on this concept, describing it as an exploitative practice by dubious figures who almost always pass on the same message of "I'm fine" from deceased loved ones. This "doesn't just con their desperate, mournful targets out of a few hard-earned dollars," Finger continues, "it does a disservice to the memories of those they lost." If there’s one overall theme I could take away, it’s to appreciate life in every moment and respond to challenges in a way that’s true to who you are, even if it’s the more difficult path. With the past stirring regrets, and the future provoking anxieties, it’s important that we live in the present moment. It is, after all, all there ever really is. He reaffirmed my belief that when moments of synchronicity occur, it is a message from God/your higher power/guides that you are on the right path.

Henry does well with not stressing any specific religions, doctrines, or beliefs and merely describes his experience with his clairvoyance. “Between Two Worlds” is an unbiased read. Tyler Henry discovered his gift for communicating with the departed when he was just ten years old. After experiencing a sudden, accurate premonition of his grandmother’s death—what Tyler would later describe as his first experience of “knowingness”—life would never be the same. Now in his twenties, Tyler is a renowned, practicing medium, star of the smash hit E! reality show, Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, and go-to clairvoyant of celebrities, VIP’s, and those simply looking for closure and healing. He has worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest names including Khloe Kardashian, Amber Rose, Margaret Cho, Jaime Pressly, and Monica Potter. Whether in Hanford or Hollywood, my intention will always be the same: to show as many people as I can that love lasts forever. The bonds we forge in this world never break.” When I first started learning about my abilities, I spent endless hours at bookstores and libraries, reading multiple books a day, and searching the Internet for resources and information about what made me so different. Being the only one experiencing an entirely other world was alienating in the truest sense. I felt like I had one foot in this world and one in the next. I didn’t understand, nor did I feel understood by, either side. As a kid, learning the ropes to our earthly dimension was challenging enough, let alone throwing another one into the mix. I was somewhere in between, a messenger in the middle of two realms: a medium.
