At first I kept Victoria Stitch as the adult character she was and just tried to write a more simple story about her. But it wasn’t really working. I knew Victoria Stitch would have be become friendlier and kinder for a young fiction book and that just wasn’t her. She is who she is and it felt wrong to change her. Also she is so special to me that I couldn’t just switch her personality like that. Bursting with 50 more winter activities, including puzzles, colouring-in and memory games, for hours of spellbinding fun!

Vampires are very obsessed with looking neat and groomed. Similarly Isadora’s Mum changed too. Her hair became much wilder as she is a fairy and likes to be outdoors and at one with nature. She is the only girl who wanted to be friends with Lilo, even if she was "weird", as Victoria claimed to be weirder. Victoria Stitch is finally Queen of Wiskling Wood, along with her sister Celestine. She is also proud aunt to Princess Minnie Stitch-diamond baby and next in line to the throne. When old enemies resurface and kidnap Minnie, Victoria Stitch is intent on revenge. It’s time for her to ride again and remind these Wisklings that Victoria Stitch is undeniable, incredible, and almost certainly unstoppable.Isadora has a wobbly tooth and her mum and dad are more excited about it than she is! Her vampire dad can’t wait to take her to the vampire dentist and have her special little fang framed. Her mum wants Isadora to leave the tooth under her pillow for the tooth fairy. I am just so so happy that Isadora Moon has made it into publication. Because you know, she is a little piece of Victoria Stitch! That is why I am so passionate about my Isadora Moon books. They came completely from my heart. I absolutely adore Isadora Moon and her world.I have absolutely loved every second of writing and illustrating these books, and I love that number six is now being released.

Fun fact: when Harriet was at university in 2010, she created a picture book for her final project all about Victoria Stitch. She recreated a new version of that original picture book as a bonus at the end of Victoria Stitch: Free and Famous! Spoiler alert* After reading the first book in the Victoria Stitch series, Bad and Glittering, I was so excited to find out what happened to Victoria Stitch when she escapes the Wiskling prison for the human world. Free and Famous did not disappoint! I was totally absorbed. I loved the relationship that develops between Victoria Stitch and Naomi, the human girl, and the delightful juxtaposition of VS's tiny world and Naomi' big world, mixed with the similarity between their plights - to be noticed and accepted for who they really are and want to be. It is delightful being able to experience Victoria Stitch and Naomi both come alive, by recognizing each other's talents and building on them together. The illustrations are absolutely charming and there is a big treat at the end which I WON'T spoil, but really want to!! Let's just say there is a very funny additional story at the end which adds loads of charm and detail to the visual delight of this series. It’s so much fun spending time with her watery friends, but while she’s there Isadora meets a mermaid called Emerald who doesn’t seem to be having such a nice time. It had been so long since Victoria Stitch had done anything dangerous . . . And she would need dangerous and forbidden magic for an adventure like this . . .’

You can see she was still quite an angry, spiky, mean character – because that’s just who she was by then. Poor Pink Rabbit! (He is much happier with Isadora Moon now but shh don’t tell Victoria Stitch that!) Fun fact: this is the first time we meet the mermaid Emerald, who has gone on to have her own spin-off series! This book also features a return of the mermaids Marina and Princess Delphina!Fun fact: Harriet loves dolls’ houses and miniature objects, which is why both Emerald and Isadora Moon have their own dolls’ houses as well!
