Bank holiday on Monday, so I don’t expect it to arrive until later next week, but here what I have on the way: As many of you know from the Nuremberg Show thread, one of the new releases is the DT-03T Aqroshot - a typical Tamiya parts bin offering consisting of the chassis from a Neo Fighter, the shell from a Super Levant, the wheels from a Stadium Blitzer and tyres from a Street Rover.

Now that I'm posting these pics, I'm thinking that I shouldn't have greased the large bevel gear if I'm going to use the diff putty. Whoops! Bearing Upgrade: These make the car run more smoothly and are easily installed during assembly. If there is no option for these shown, then the kit already includes the bearing upgrade as standard. These are entirely optional. Also, with its choice of only two pinion options, the DT-02 'box is hardly what I'd call flexible in terms of gearing. I would guess this is why the models Tamiya have released on the DT-02/DT-03 platform have all had buggy-diameter wheels/tyres. Ive really been struggling with a price as it's got more than it's original value in upgrades, spares etc. Also included is a brand new (still wrapped up) Racing Fighter shell with decals and front and rear DT03 buggy wheels again new and never used. All you need to convert to a buggy is some tyres. The rear-positioned gearbox is sealed to protect from dust and dirt, with the built-in differential gear offering smooth cornering. Probably. Some are bundled with ESCs, some aren't. If it was bundled with an ESC from the factory, it will be the TBLE-02 which is brushless compatible. Some hobby shops put in a different ESC if they are assembling their own bundles, and some ship with no ESC at all.

Building the car was very easy, there are already some topics with a excellent description so I won't write about that again. I have no idea how this will turn out or even if the plan will work. The WT01 has always been a favourite basher of mine, I'd like to recreate the robustness of the WT01 with something a little more precise and well balanced.Of course one could ditch the Blitzer wheels and go for Street Rover ones instead, which might look rather good, or ditch the Street Rover tyres and go for Blitzer ones instead, which would also look rather good. However the larger Blitzer tyres might not suit the limited gearing options of the DT-02 gearbox.

It is also possible to fit the smaller front wheels with Dirt Hag I tires, but those have a smaller radius so that's a personal choice. First up, the unceremonious opening of the box, as has become typical of Tamiya of late, these space saving boxes seem to be the norm, it's a pity but I guess it keeps the costs down on the lesser kits...The DT-02 gearbox seems to be flexible enough to fit a wide range of wheel and tire sizes based on the number of different boots that Tamiya have trown on the chassis. The TTX300 system offers better than average adjustability and features steering and throttle trim with adjustable end points, steering rate adjustments, an internal antenna and a 70/30 throttle setting that is great for bashing ESC’s with reverse.
