You might think you can give the other handle to a friend or relative, you certainly could. However, they would then need to buy a charging stand for it, if they did not have one.

With either you have to power the brush on to change mode, but the Genius will remember the cleaning mode and start on this next time it is powered on, the 5000 does not. Scrubbing and using lots of force as you brush will damage the teeth and gums over the long term. Oral-B has for many years built pressure sensors into their toothbrushes and the Pro 3 is no exception. All the electric toothbrushes on test today have a “Protimer”. This is a helpful on handle timer that buzzes every 30 seconds. After four of these buzzes you will have completed your recommended 2 minutes of brushing. Features: Verdict If you need more detail on any of the brushes, read on or leave a comment. Brush vs brush comparison posts To look at the 2 toothbrushes there is a great deal of similarity, the biggest noticeable difference is that the Smart 4 4000 has a white rubber grip on the front of the handle, compared to the dark blue of the Pro 2.

Oral-B Pro 2 2500 - Pros & Cons

The Oral-B Pro 2500 trumps the other two by coming with a travel case. I find a travel case extremely useful to protect the oral-b pro 2500 when on my travels. In a funny way it makes me want to bring the Oral-B Pro 2500 just because it has the travel case. Verdict: Portability Its brush heads are made from petroleum-based plastic, which uses up the planet’s finite resources compared to using plant-based plastics. The 2 year warranty on all these electric toothbrushes can be extended to 3 years if you register online. Verdict: Value for Money

The next big difference is the battery life. The Pro 2 2000 has over twice the usage time. The Pro 600 will operate for 28 minutes, which is 7 days of cleaning based on one user. However the Pro 2 will last for 66 minutes which is 16 days of usage time. If the decision was on price alone, then the Pro 2 2900 would be our overall choice, because although it is more expensive to buy, when you factor in that for the higher price you get 2 brush handles, it actually works out better value per handle. As you may already know, as a general rule, electric toothbrushes from Oral-B actually sell for far less than their retail price. The Pro 3 3500 offers the features we regard as essential (a pressure sensor and a timer) at an affordable price. However, as noted earlier, there are various variants, which can mean the grip colour will be different, or the same! It weighs in at 130g with toothbrush head so it is quite light and definitely will not take up too much of your luggage space. The size including brush head is 23 cm x 2.5cm x 3cm. 5) Value For Money It’s a bit of a hassle as you need to stand almost perfectly still in front of your camera and a smartphone holder like this is not what most of us want in a bathroom. Lasting up to 16 days or 66 minutes in our testing, that is an extra 4 days or 16 minutes of usage time. Smart 6 6000 vs Genius 9000

All of the electric toothbrushes weigh 130g with the tooth brush head and are relatively small with a dimensions of 23cm x 2.5cm x 3cm with the tooth brush head.

In the very near future we will have a guide that explains this all in detail. However, here is the short answer for now. If you hadn’t already grasped, the Oral-B range of electric toothbrushes is more confusing than they need to be.

The Pro 2 2500 is technically the expensive option, but most of the time it is cheaper or there is little in the way of real price difference. It offers a blend of features and functions that benefit us as users at a price that most will find affordable. All three electric toothbrushes come with two forms of pressure sensor. A visible light that flashes red when you are pressing too hard and also a sensor in the brush head that slows down pulsations and oscillations if you are pressing too hard. These are both critical to prevent gum recession and tooth wear. With the Pro 3, the rear of the handle has a series of dimples running from top to bottom. It is far more subtle, but does provide texture onto which the fingertips grip. It is easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store, compact, and travel-friendly. It has gum pressure control to remind you if you go above the gentle brushing routines.Hopefully, this gives you a good overview of where various brushes fit in in terms of price and features, but if not please leave a comment or question.
