In its day it was the scene of minor league baseball games, high school football, auto racing, and some important boxing matches. Andy’s relationship with each and every one of them is my favorite part of the series, and reading Rosenfelt's books is as comfortable as slippers and hot chocolate. Plus, this one's plot holds more surprises than usual and it's definitely one of the better installments! With many twists and turns - one concerning a retiring police officer and his older canine partner - the book keeps you on your reading "toes"!

With his trademark humor and larger-than-life characters – including a police officer and his K-9 partner, Simon – Rosenfelt never fails to deliver as Andy and his eccentric crew dash to reunite a family in time for Christmas. so it took me awhile to understand the characters and their personalities, relationships, past history.It’s not that I have inhuman decency, or human indecency; it’s just that I am comparatively agnostic on the subject. He insists the girl was alive when he left the scene, and always feared he would be blamed for the murder. So this way when they come in to make their last payments, the cashier tells them that the gifts have already been paid for and hands them their items.

I recently listened to Deck The Hounds and the beginning of this book was so similar, I started thinking I had somehow already read it. While these aren’t serious books, they’re always well constructed and designed to keep you guessing. They involve difficult and dangerous investigations by Andy, his wife, and friends and conclude with courtroom drama. It works that way with me and Laurie Collins, as she represents the human-decency side of our marriage.

If you love dogs (and even if you don’t but love a good mystery), you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of David Rosenfelt’s Andy Carpenter mystery series .

I was pleasantly surprised that even though this is book 20, I was able to jump and not only understand the plot, but enjoy it. The titular dachshund doesn't have much influence on the story and there were a few things that I thought were unconvincing (such as the idea that a letter from the deceased would remain undiscovered after so much time, and a mistake in the NFL scheduling practices, and the technological McGuffin wasn't believable, etc. I was stunningly brilliant at a job interview with my uncle, who was President of United Artists, and was immediately hired. I wrote and sold a bunch of feature films, none of which ever came close to being actually filmed, and then a bunch of TV movies, some of which actually made it to the small screen.But it had fallen into terrible disrepair and wasn’t designated as a historical landmark until eight years after Kristen had breathed her last. Rosenfelt's books are timeless, and I hope he continues writing his witty and very endearing Andy Carpenter series well into the future.

Plus, this time there are two new dogs - Andy represents one dog in court, and then later represents the owner of the titular dachshund in a murder conviction. I found Dachshund Through The Snow to be well written with a solid storyline, likeable characters and a satisfying conclusion.
