Description

The development of the A series began with the establishment of a new evaluation method by analysing the relationship between sound quality and physical characteristics; the result was the A8000. The A5000 has further evolved that evaluation method. As a result of a new research targeting an evaluation method that matches the actual music listening situation. P/P has a professional and highly competent team comprising engineers, designers, marketing specialists and most importantly audio enthusiasts to provide the best experience to customers and our partners up and down stream. Unboxing : I really, really like final's approach to boxing. The stuff is simple, but much sturdier than the chi-fi stuff I get to review. The years of experience really do stand out. If I want to summarize A4000’s performance in a single statement, I would say that it has the sound signature of A8000; going a step further, I could say that A4000 achieves about 80% of what A8000 can do, which is really not a small feat. I know that it is hard to believe what I am saying, but this is what I feel; actually, at times, I thought that 80% might even be a bit conservative! SOUND IMAGING is great. Thanks to this transparency of timbre, we can dig and travel in the layers of sound as well as clearly discern the static location of the instruments.

The ABS casing features a Shibo finish, a surface technique that mimics the texture of other materials like leather. This is reminiscent of the finishing found on cameras. I'm personally extremely fond of it because it reminds me of the first camera I ever owned. (RIP Nikon D90) The Spring2 is one of those “new” offerings of which I spoke in the MS4 blurb. With a narrower soundstage than the MS4 and A4K, that does not dissuade from a thoroughly engaging sound. Lifted guitar work, and a solid if not too deep reaching bass line is countered by distinct and clean treble note. While that bass is not the deepest, its speed is unparalleled here to me, and with that comes a control of the signature, which puts it at the top of this category. Or near. In my review of the Spring2, I called it the first IEM at this price to make me think twice about my most recommended. That recommendation still holds and the one in which it nearly dethroned is the Finschi. I also throw the MS4 in that range as well. Inside, the A5000 houses final’s latest dynamic driver the f-core DU that has a nice brass front housing: more inert to magnetic forces compared to regular aluminium used in just about a bazillion other dynamic driver earphones. To test sibilance on headphones I use Panic! At The Disco’s “High Hopes.” Typically, the better the highs on my later test songs, the worse a headphone does on the sibilance test. Sadly, the good highs on “The Alien” are there at the cost of some sibilance on this song. It’s not the worst I’ve ever heard or even close, but it’s definitely there. A shame because this song sounds really good on the A5000 and it’s only occasionally interrupted by some sharpness/sibilance.The A5000 is a very spacious listen, giving the listener a grand sense of scale that is done quite well.

Final E5000 review: delicate bass cannons - The Verge Final E5000 review: delicate bass cannons - The Verge

The exterior box of A4000 and A3000 is nicely minimal and inside it the user will find, besides the IEM and cable: Other things of note is that cable included with the A5000 is a vast improvement over the A4000 cable. Cable swapping looks to be an easier proposition which was my biggest complaint about the A4000. Both iem’s are inherently travel friendly due to their light weight and comfortable fit. A nice silicone case for storing A4000 or A3000. This is quite versatile, and it has been used in many Final models. I was sent this unit as a member of the audio46 A5000 tour! This was the first time I was included on a review tour and it’s exciting for me to try this IEM. I have not been paid, bribed, drugged or accosted for a good review. I was only given a product in exchange for an honest review.PC + CX31993 or Avani dongle dac, PC + topping E30 & L30, Sony ZX707 DAP, Xperia 10 IV phone – A5000 needs same power as A4000 (less than A3000), just the cheap dongle is fine to be honest. Switching to Turbine Gold, I think it sounded closer to A4000 than IE80 and FX750. The Turbine Gold also has a similar soundstage and clarity as the A4000. The Turbine Gold has metal shells so they are heavier and not as comfortable as A4000. Some might say U shape, some might even V shape, for me it’s more like a W shape (even with slight recessed mids I think they are in a nice level still), slight priority to the sub-bass. The A5000 comes with ear hooks, cable, case and an assortment of ear tips. The cable has a really nice look and feel to it that turned out to be very tangle resistant. It felt pretty premium especially considering the A5000’s price point. The tips are also of really high quality. I bought a set of the same tips a few years ago on a friend’s recommendation and I have used them a lot. Lastly, the case is neat clamshell design. It has a premium feel.

final A5000 Single High Precision Dynamic Driver IEM

The Bass of this single dynamic driver IEM is fairly impressive. It extends well into the sub bass region and offers consistent decay and rumble. I was unable to detect and bleeding into the mid bass region, which was clean but offered good impact. It is not extremely elevated in this region and some bass heads may want more but overall; I would say it is enjoyable. The speed of the dynamic driver in this range is what left the biggest impression. Bass slopes downward to the mid-range without any extreme dips or steepness. Soundstage: What really sets this IEM apart from my (admittedly limited) experience with others is how wide the soundstage is. On the Fairfield Four's Roll Jordan Roll the soundstage blooms out nice and wide as it should about halfway through the song. On Yello's La Habanera the various instruments and percussion are placed nice and wide, often seeming to emanate from outside of the head. Listening to orchestral recordings it was easy to close my eyes and image the full orchestra set in front of me. If you read my review of A8000, I explain why forged Beryllium is the most appropriate material for a driver diaphragm: Beryllium is very stiff compared, e.g., to Aluminium and Magnesium, and this ensures low distortion, i.e., it is not deformed throughout the whole frequency range; it is also very light, and this reduces the effect of inertia and allows the diaphragm to change direction as fast as possible. So, based on its stiffness and lightness, Beryllium is the ideal material for a diaphragm. The only weakness of Beryllium is that it is very brittle, so it has to be forged, and thismakes the diaphragm making process even more time- and money-consuming.In addition to clear vocals, even the fine mid- and low-range sounds are reproduced clearly, creating a sense of depth in each note, allowing you to feel the uplifting feeling of music more than ever before. Going in to the nitty gritty Bass on the A5000 is impactful and dynamic. Certainly enough for all genres. The bulk of the bass here is from the sub-bass and lower mid bass. This allows for a cleaner mid range presentation. Comparisons – Each comparison was made against the A5000. Please keep in mind that the IE600 is double the price of the A5000 and the IE200 is almost half the cost of the Final Audio A5000.
