The majority of rose perfumes are based on the majestic, pink-hued Rosa Damascena, which is mainly produced in Bulgaria, Turkey, and India. Roses, especially in perfume, continued to soar in popularity right into the 19th century, when the rose itself was known as the queen of flowers, and its fragrance the queen of perfumes.
