Many thanks to Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the opportunity to read and enjoy this story for review.

Her first audio drama, The Victorian Age, was releasedas part ofthe Torchwood range at Big Finish in February, while Outbreak,a three-part Torchwood drama co-written with Guy Adamsand Emma Reeves, will bereleased November 2016. In Lily, Benedict gives us an inspirational heroine to shout for – brave, determined and intensely human – as she sets her sights firmly on digging out the truth even as the bodies mount and her chances of surviving the twelve days of Christmas seem to recede by the hour.Including additional scavenger hunts for the reader, this clever murder mystery is the perfect gift for fans of classic mysteries, festive Christmas books, and armchair detective work. I saw this on a friends list about mystery books set during Christmas, and since holiday romance isn’t my favorite I thought I would give this one a try.

An ideal read for the festive season but just as compelling any time of year, this Agatha Christie-esque yuletide tale is a contemporary crime story with nods to classic murder mysteries. Reconozco que al principio no me enganchó mucho pero a partir del 30% más o menos empecé a meterme más y más en la historia y la verdad es que me ha gustado bastante.Although this wasn't quite as atmospheric as I expected, and became a little repetitive in places with regards to Lily's grief over the death of her mother many years previously, the mystery itself intrigued me.

Alexandra Benedict serves up a traditional country house Christmas mystery set in the Yorkshire Dales as the snow falls heavily, threatening to cut off Endgame House. A week after the night she chases but fails to catch a mysterious trespasser outside her town house, some unknown party texts Tempe four images of a corpse that looks as if it’s been chewed by wild hogs, because it has been. They'll each be given a succession of twelve cryptic clues, one on each of the twelve days of Christmas, each clue leading to a key hidden somewhere on the property. Unfortunately, I found the challenges quite distracting, so abandoned them quite early on in favour of just enjoying the read. But she is heading back after receiving a letter from her late Aunt Lilliana asking her to take part in the final Christmas Game. And then we're meant to see this aunt as a loving and caring individual who everyone looks up to and loves? This is a entertaining and engaging seasonal crime read, of secrets, Lily's, Endgame House's and others in her family, and murders, past and present. Una melodía demolía tus fronteras y fraternos parajes para parejas eran un escenario necesario para mi listado de latidos. Another sweltering month in Charlotte, another boatload of mysteries past and present for overworked, overstressed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. Her second novel, Jonathan Dark or The Evidence of Ghosts(Orion), was published inFebruary 2016 and The Stone House, a tie-in novel for Doctor Whospin-off Class, was published by BBC Books in October.

Co-authors Nelson DeMille and his son Alex have created interesting characters, though Brodie might be the type that appears more in fiction than in the real world: About to be handcuffed by a pair of armed men, he “suddenly spun around and delivered a ball-busting kick, under the guy’s ballistic vest, and into his non-ballistic balls. And when Lily and her cousins are stranded at the house by a snowstorm, things soon turn deadly, leaving Lily not only fighting for answers, but her life. Sitting down to read The Christmas Murder Game during the festive holidays feels like a game in itself.Según van saliendo las pistas, que los protagonistas los resuelven en un min (esto me ha decepcionado un poco) la trama se va complicando. The first individual to uncover the secret room will receive the entire house, and the land it resides upon, as their own. The Christmas Murder Game is wildly entertaining- a chilly, locked room mystery that echoes a classic Agatha Christie tale and offers the reader their own game to play within the novel. This is a clever mystery that feels current with themes of love is love (LGTBQ relationships), while distinctly evoking a Victorian flair, as Lily designs corsets.
